We’ve stayed there many times over the last 30+ years, however this time was different. The power was out when we arrived due to a storm, which is understandable, however they had no backup plan to serve food of any kind at any of the restaurants at the resort. We saw Domino’s cars pulling up that had been ordered by customers , however, the resort did nothing to ensure food was available besides giving a free bag of chips and a soda. The closest place with any kind of food was 20 minutes away and after an all day flight that’s not what you want.
With the power out, they were also unable to supply us with room keys. We had to be escorted in and out of our rooms by someone with a master key.
The next morning they tried to downplay the power outage by saying that dinners were being served by 6pm, which was not true.
The ice machine on our floor was out during the week we were there, which was extremely inconvenient. Their explanation was that they were waiting for parts.
The pool was green in color which stayed that way, two or three days later they closed the pool down for some time to try to shock the pool to clean it however, even after the shock treatment, it was still green. Several people did not want to go in. In addition, this is the first time we’ve stayed there that the parking is now $45 a day which used to be complementary and this is on top of the resort fee. This resort has been our go to for over 30 years but next time I’ll think we’ll try somewhere else.
