"It is a lovely, stately old mansion just like you expect of Galveston. Built in the 1860’s and recently renovated over a three year period. It is located only about four blocks from the cruise terminal and is ideal if you are cruising. The owner is a great guy and has other property nearby that includes a parking lot. If you stay at the manor you can park your car in the lot and he will drive you to the terminal. Talk about service.
There is a live in chef onsite and he prepares your breakfast...

"Decent place to stay. It was a pretty typical $125-$150 hotel. I wouldn’t pay more than that. Parking is a bit of a mess. Elevators were fast. Just request being away from the dogs. Several with dogs and the barking was annoying."

"Pre-arrival it was impossible to get anyone to answer a call for questions. I was put on hold 3 times and never got answered. The in-room phones were inoperative for our entire 3 night stay. Couldn't call front desk, valet, for a cart to help with luggage, Nothing! Completely dead. If you're hungry don't think you will have even half decent service in the restaurant (and I use that term loosely). Rooms were clean and maid service accomodating. Front desk was very nice and pool was fun. Swim up...

"bugs in one of the rooms, card lock didn’t work properly and staff decided to offer to move us at 11:00pm. we said no when they said they would give discount in morning. no went down in morning and manager was rude and she said they didn’t leave any info about what happened and since we declined to move, they took that as we accepted room as is. Terrible management and total disregard for customer satisfaction. buried my mother that morning and will NEVER stay at that place again."

"First, the lobby smells horrible. The bathroom in the room was way outdated and definitely not clean. Then on the last morning of our stay, as I’m getting dressed, housekeeping knocked on the door, multiple times and multiple times I told them we would be out momentarily (this was only 10am, checkout is 11am) but they opened my room door anyways! I was mid getting dressed!! I will not be staying at this hotel again."
