Dear Anonymous: Thank you for your review. We always reach out to our guests immediately after they book to let them know the layout of the room they chose. Its very important to us that our guests are comfortable. Church Des Artistes is an artist designed home and experience with antique claw foot tubs including deliciously strong water pressure showers or a traditional low tub with jacuzzi jets. We have rooms with en suite baths on the ground floor and our more secluded rooms on the second floor overlooking the courtyard garden with private baths on the ground floor are suitable for more mobile guests.

Thank you for this review which will be helpful for like minded travelers. We are a unique artist restored 1800's church and it is very important to us that our guests have a wonderful stay and are well taken care of. The Des Artistes Master Bedroom which this guest chose to reserve has original stained glass windows. All our rooms have freshly picked flowers, freshly ironed antique linen and cotton sheets and an armoire with large fluffy bathrobes and slippers (great for trips to the bathroom). While this is a favorite bedroom for many repeat guests who appreciate the light and seclusion of the room overlooking the courtyard garden we do offer downstairs bedrooms with en suite bathrooms for those guests who are not comfortable with stairs. In case it is overlooked on the Expedia listing we always send our guests a welcome email making it clear that the private bathroom assigned to The Des Artistes Master Bedroom is not "ensuite" but on the ground floor. Breakfast: On weekdays we offer a complimentary continental breakfast of organic coffee and teas, fresh fruit, croissants and jams, juice and hard boiled eggs and on weekends we offer an optional multi course farm to table breakfast for $15 per guest which recently received a rave "must go" review from Hudson Valley Magazine. Our one of a kind offering here is certainly not for everyone and if a more conventional Holiday Inn type experience is what you are looking for then we strongly encourage you to pass on Church Des Artistes Guest House as well.

Its always helpful when guests write comments like "the neighborhood is on its heels". We are very fond and proud of our melting pot multi cultural community with its historic unique architecture and proximity to the waterfront. If some folks find that undesirable they are welcome to their opinion and we hope that like minded guests will gather from that that this is not the place for them. While we are also a full time artist and musician we put an enormous amount of love and care into our bed and breakfast. It is disappointing when some guests don't read our welcome email where we clearly state the layout of the bathrooms. We offer bedrooms with en suite and non ensuite baths, this guest chose the latter. As far as "minimal" breakfast is concerned: on weekdays we offer a complimentary continental breakfast of fresh fruit, croissant and jam, organic coffee and tea. On weekends we offer an optional multi course farm to table breakfast which was just featured in Hudson Valley Magazine.
