Stockade District
Step back in time in Kingston's Stockade District, a living museum of 17th-century Dutch colonial heritage. Original cobblestone streets wind past historic buildings like the 1658 Senate House, where New York's first government met. The district's well-preserved stone houses and Old Dutch Church create an authentic glimpse into America's past. Visitors can explore intimate galleries, boutique shops, and farm-to-table restaurants housed in colonial buildings. The compact area is perfect for history enthusiasts who enjoy walking. Nearby Hudson River waterfront offers scenic views just a short stroll away.

Rondout
Kingston's historic Rondout area charms visitors with cobblestone streets that wind towards scenic waterways. This 19th-century port district preserves its maritime heritage through limestone warehouses now housing galleries and restaurants. The Hudson River Maritime Museum showcases the area's industrial past in a restored steamboat building. Stroll along waterfront promenades where Rondout Creek meets the mighty Hudson River. Watch boats dock at working marinas while the Rondout Lighthouse stands guard offshore. The Trolley Museum's vintage rail cars offer glimpses into transport history through interactive exhibits.

Top Kingston Hotel Reviews
Courtyard by Marriott Kingston
"Beautiful room-super clean and immaculate"
Hunter Lodge, a Bluebird by Lark
"Our stay started with an open door, food in the fridge and a trip to reception to make sure the room was not already occupied. We stayed in the room. The rooms seemed to be recently renovated, new AC systems, spacious, etc. so the accommodations were very nice. Biggest problem is the lighting is terrible and the room is very dark (paint, decorations, etc.), a bulb went out and one of the two light fixtures would not work. The fridge needed defrosting badly; we could not use the freezer. The next day they moved us to a suite and refunded a $40 activity fee (not sure what this additional fee was for; there were no activities, pool, etc.). The suite had lots of natural light, but again, not much light after dark. The glass shower door was off the track, but there was no handyman there that day. The bathroom sink is separate from the very tiny bathroom; there were no towel hooks or towel bars in the sink area. In the prior room there were two hooks in the sink area. Owners should live in these rooms for a night. We appreciated the upgrade; the fridge was in much better shape. The public rooms were very nice."
Beekman Arms and Delamater Inn
"Who wouldn't want to stay at this historic location! Though we were in a room that was not part of the old building, the room was nice and clean, the breakfast was wonderful, the staff so very nice. I love this place, this town."

"Clean room, nice staff"
Residence Inn by Marriott Kingston
"Spacious and well maintained. Pillows are super soft so depending on your liking might be too soft (they were for me)"
Kingston Regency Inn
"The room & property were very clean. The staff outstanding. A special thank you to James at the front desk & Andrè in The Venue. Would suggest that at check in guests should be notified that housekeeping needs to be requested by 11:00 am (I didn’t notice the sign). For a nicer hotel, coffee should be available in lobby in addition to the small coffee maker in room. I would recommend to friends & family."
Super 8 by Wyndham Kingston
"Staff is very friendly, it looks like a lot of people actually live here, we checked in late, the desk is manned 24 hours, which is convenient. The room is nothing special, furniture is run down, rug is gross, but bed and pillows are comfy, sheets and towels clean. TV stuck on one channel...Room is spacious though, and even with all the dogs and seeming live-ins hanging about, it was very quiet, so we could get a good rest. Breakfast is oatmeal, packaged pastries, granola bars, OJ and coffee. Convenient location at the right price for a one-night stay. On the way out I saw rooms that had vinyl flooring, and the photo online shows newer furniture. I guess we got an unrenovated room..."
The Wiltwyck
"Lovely little hotel , great location."
Hotel Kinsley
"The rooms were well taken care of but a bit on the small side. You may have to walk several blocks to get to the breakfast location, and the weekend breakfast was somewhat sparse."
