"Great location, super modern and clean, staff was very friendly and even had a birthday card for my daughter and let us use a Polaroid camera to make memories. They saw us dressed up in kimonos and came outside to take pictures of us. Even told us where to pose so you could see the beautiful temple in the background. Overall, this was a beautiful place and I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend"

"Great stay. The room was huge, the shower pressure fantastic, the hot water plentifully, and the sauna was the cherry on top. Our family enjoyed the accommodations and the friendly staff."

"Campton Kiyomizu is a traditional Japanese hotel conveniently located in the old town center of Kyoto. There was a near-by grocery store open 24 hours, which we frequented, and taxis were always available. The rooms were spacious, beds comfortable, and all areas were very clean. It even had a washing machine. They gave us comfortable pajamas which we ended up purchasing. Our host, Masao, provided outstanding service, accommodating our every need, including coordinating the luggage...

"A great hotel if you want to have enough space in the room; great location to take train, metro and bus getting connected with the main places in Kyoto."

"Hands down one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at! The staff set the gold standard for hospitality—warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly throughout our stay.
Our Two Twin Room with a balcony was fantastic. It was super spacious, beautifully lit, and had great air conditioning. The bathroom was huge, and having two sinks made a massive difference. Sitting out on the balcony was such a treat.
Everything about this stay was 10/10. Highly, highly recommend! Also the gym was very nice to have...

"This place was way better than I was expecting. It is large and clean and very traditional and has great amenities like a washer dryer, a great bathroom and a nice upstairs. Just my wife and rented it but it could easily comfortably hold a family of 6. The people running it ere super nice and very responsive and helpful. I plan to stay there again!"

"This hotel is fantastic! Room is very clean, modern but has an authentic atmosphere.
There is a shuttle bus from Kyoto station to the hotel even though the station isn’t so far from the hotel.
I would like to stay again in the future."
"Clean room just a little confusing at first how to work the lights on room such as needing to put room cards in doorway slots in room for the power to work, just never seen this before. Also other improvement that could be done is have a designated area for those with tattoos to be able to use the hot springs since foreigners do get to enjoy the experience as well without offending the locals."
"Our triple room (which I believe was a double with the couch converted) was slightly bigger than others we’d stayed in while in Japan. We had no view to speak of but it didn’t matter because we spent the majority of our time out, sightseeing and enjoying the city. I liked the hotel’s system for notifying staff of the need for a cleaning: a magnet on the door signifying the need for a full clean, change of trash bag and linens, or no service at all. Everything in the hotel felt relatively upscale. The entrance from the street (next to the Rolex store) was lovely, as there were fresh flowers and we were greeted by air conditioning and a really calming, fresh scent each time we entered. The other entrance (into the underground mall/subway complex) was very convenient and allowed us to teach destinations more quickly than if we were to brave the crowds on the streets above. Breakfasts were outstanding, and staff was clearly aimed at pleasing each guest. My only (very minor) disappointment was that, since I’d read there were laundry facilities on-site, I’d planned to do our laundry here. There were 2 machines, both tiny, and both full. However, we were able to toss our laundry into one rolling suitcase and take it to a proper laundromat a half mile away, and that worked out just fine. The hotel is quite nice, and I would most definitely stay here again."
"This hotel was good. Points for the location. It is just across Kyoto Station and if you want to explore Kyoto, you will need access to this station. I loved their bathroom/toilet rooms set up. Most interesting. Though minus points for their AC unit. At least in my room, I found it wanting. Kyoto summers are no joke. The cooling system only goes down to 20 C or about 68 F. That’s okay, it’s not uncomfortable. But I would have preferred to have the option of going down to 18 C. Again, it gets very, very hot in Kyoto."
"It was a nice little Place for what I needed. I spent most of the time traveling around but it was good for a place to sleep and shower. The breakfast was good early in the morning and they do offer Dinner too but I did not take advantage because of the good food in Japan."
