"We were greeted by Victor, very friendly and welcoming, who showed us to our room, a small double but very clean and perfectly adequate for an overnight stay. We had a lovely view of Todd Crag which we were climbing the next day. Breakfast was amazing, a good selection of cereal, yoghurt, fruit and even cakes! My husband had the full English and I chose the smashed avocado on toast with poached egg. We were served by friendly and efficient Joanna who took the trouble to remember our names! The...

"Great location, centrally located for all of the trails, short walk into Grasmere was very convenient, restaurant was a great place to grab a good meal at the end of a long day"

"Regrettably our room number 6. Did not smell nice. It had the smell of old wet trainers. We did mention it and a room diffuser was turned on. Some of the fixtures and fitting were falling apart. The shower was head was not appropriate for the size of the shower causing flooding. The staff were lovely and theroom was clean."

"An amazing location and room. Great breakfast and convenient to walkable and drivable Lake District attractions."

"Had a fantastic stay at the Marymount hotel. My room 36 was a upgraded room new bathroom, massive king size bed. Very quiet and a fantastic view of the hills. Breakfast was really good loads of choices. And the food at night was good too. The staff a really nice. Shout out to Maria,Andy and Allana for making us feel so welcome."

"Amazing place to stay. First time staying in a B&B having favoured hotel stays in the past and what a nice change in made. From the warm and friendly welcome and throughout the 3 day stay everything met or exceeded our expectations. The room (Burley) at the top of the house was amazing with a roll top bath in the room, the most comfortable of bed and just the ambiance of the house made the experience even better. Breakfast was lovely and the hosts were super friendly too."

"No SPA was available as was advertised."

"Strange entrance to our room as had to hold the fire door open and room door to get the cases in. Room was clean as was bathroom although bath panel very scruffy. Due to the style of sink turning the tap on causes a tidal wave and wets you through so have to use cautiously! Had to pay for parking as didn’t book directly with hotel."

"We enjoyed the great history of the hotel along with the very attentive staff and delicious meal we had in the evening. We opted for the suite with a spacious sitting room overlooking the amazing setting. Wonderful!"

"Very nice hotel..recommended"

"Lovely clean room. Friendly, helpful staff. Great breakfasts. Lovely food in restaurant. No TV service due to recent storms. This was not the fault of the hotel and they did provide a working TV in the comfortable lounge. Overall, a great 4 night stay. We will return."

"Food was fantastic and the staff couldn’t be more attentive. First class"

"Lovely clean room. Staff very friendly and informative about local attractions. Good choice of breakfast. Plenty of parking."

"If booking a room with a city I would suggest requesting this as we didn’t know we had to and ended up with a view of catering extractor fans and air conditioning units. Also the room we stayed in was a card fob which you would atomically think upon leaving your room and the door shut g it would lock and you would need to key card to gain entry up until this open g we hadn’t realised our room had been unlocked when we went out on hikes and meals meaning anyone could have helped themselves to our...
