"My partner and I loved our two night stay at the Sitzmark Chalet Inn. As soon as we walked in, we were very warmly greeted by Lisa, the hotel manager. She was so friendly and helpful, and she even showed us to our room.
The room itself was very large, comfortable, and nicely decorated with a wooden bedframe, a saddle-blanket bedspread, and mid-century, free-standing vintage fireplace. All very appropriate for the area. The bathroom was modern and comfortable.
The room featured a wall unity air conditioner on one side (not needed for the cool days we were there) and a wall heater on the other side of the room (this we did need).
Each morning, muffins, oatmeal and coffee were provided.
The hotel is located east of the downtown Ruidoso, not walkable to downtown, but only a couple of minutes drive. Directly across the street is a wonderful little shop called Tanner Traditions which sells work of Native American artists. I also recommend a restaurant down the street called La Hacienda. It served some of the best Mexican food I've had in a while.
Overall, I highly recommend Sitzmark Chalet Inn and I thank Lisa for being so welcoming."
