Staff upon arrival was great. Richard was very kind. The room was decent and had all the basic amenities needed. I liked the location, in the heart of it all. I found the security of the building well executed overall, except for other guests who need to be more diligent about locking common doors. Good hot water and pressure. I think its perfect for a couple nights stay in the heart of Lisbon. The noise didn't bother us as much as other commentors mentioned, otherwise good spot.

We had a wonderful experience here- room was stylish, clean, and comfortable- and in a great location! Couldn’t ask for better and the bar downstairs made delicious cocktails:) Highly recommend!

Convenient location and friendly staff. Room was clean and cozy. We were on the 4th floor and with bars and restaurants below, it was a little noisy at night, but it didn’t bother us much.

The room was great. Nicely laid out with an adorable little balcony overlooking the street. The location was great- very walkable. It is located in the part of town known for the nightlife. The area directly around the guest house was very busy at night, but it was silent in the room. Richard was lovely and kept my baggage for the day after I’d checked out.

A clean, comfortable and affordable room in the heart of the Barrio. Nice view to Lisbon old roofs and streets. The area is very touristical in Summer but remains nice in other seasons. The owner was kind enough to carry my heavy bag to the 3rd floor... the stairs is a bit steep but so nice! An enjoyable stay.

We had a great time here! After reading the other reviews, I was very worried it would be too loud to sleep (and that might be a problem on the weekends) but since we stayed there during the week, but we weren’t bothered by noise at all. They have invested in good soundproof windows and when closed, we slept great. Also stuff closed around 2am and we found it actually pretty quiet outside afterwards. As advertised stairs are narrow but you’re booking here for location and that was great. There’s a cute bar on the street level we didn’t get to try but looked like a great place for a nightcap. We easily walked to great restaurants from here and could catch an Uber about 2 blocks away to go anywhere further. (Also the booking mentions this but Uber won’t go all the way to the location but they get close. It’s about 2 blocks (uphill).) We were very happy and almost everyone in this area (including the host) spoke great English in this area.

We loved staying here, Richard is a brilliant and efficient host. The area is full of life (expect noise outside until 11.30pm/ 12 ish during the week- didn’t bother us at all - it’s lovely and lively - but if you want serene evenings it’s not the place for you!) although the windows are great and keep out the majority of noise and the aircon is great. Room was spotless, stylish, amazing shower plus fridge and kettle provided :-) amazing area - everything really accessible as long as you don’t mind a little walking up and down a few hills - ubers won’t take you to the door as it’s such a thin road, cabs will - but you pay for it- we paid 40 euros from the airport in a cab - and just 15 euros back to the airport in an uber which we ordered from the nearest main road. Would definitely stay here again

Great place to stay in Bairro Alto Neighborhood

Richard was an excellent host. The room was beautiful and clean and the bathroom modern. Once we saw that it was over a very popular bar, we thought we would get zero sleep but somehow, the juliette balcony and window facing a very happening night life location, was very quiet! We were so surprised. Also the AC unit was excellent and kept the room nice and cool, which also helps be get a great night's sleep. But I would only recommend this place for couples and single people not for families. The bar down stairs was also great. Very social and popular and fun to enjoy.

Not What I Thought

Not like what I thought. The positives are the staff is nice, the bed is comfortable (but it’s a double not a King) and the room is spacious. Downsides are there’s no elevator and the stairs are steep, it’s very loud at night surrounded by bars and bass music until very late every night, there is no closet, no hanging rack, and no hangers at all in the room plus it looks more vintage in person than in the photos. Don’t tell the housekeeper to just give you towels day 1 as then she won’t clean your room the rest of your trip even if you put the sign on the door. You must get a taxi not an Uber to be picked up and dropped off at this location. Important to keep these things in mind when booking this hotel.

Excellent place for nightlife, surrounded by bars and restaurants in the heart of Bairro Alto. 5mins walking distance from Pl. Camoes and Tram 28. The only thing is that the zone has restrictions for some vehicles but everything is well explained in the description and by the staff during the booking. The room was very clean and with all the necessary amenities. The staff very helpful and communicative. For sure will stay again
