"There are so many points that I would not recommend this property at all.
First of all the location on Expedia is not correct and the property is located in a really remote area. Nothing in the neighbourhood! No restaurants at all. The only positive point was a local grocery store which was giving you the regular prices without scamming you as a tourist. But please keep in mind, if you don’t have a car, you can’t even go to the store after the dark as the area is populated with many dogs.
The apartment had an odour in the kitchen area which they tried to cover it with strong air freshener which caused migraines for us. No shampoos! Not enough towels and toilet papers! Once we asked for more toilet papers for four nights stay, the owner was not happy about it! My father also asked for bath towels and he just gave him two small unfolded towels!
The owner of the property welcomed us, but even though we were super tired and exhausted he kept talking about politics and the current situation in Middle East.
The staff who handled breakfast and luggages were really good and friendly."
"This is a 3 star hotel NOT a 4 star as rated. Not much variety of food during breakfast or dinner, repeated items. Rooms are basic and small. There is no internet available in the rooms, which was very annoying. The only positive thing l can say about this hotel, is that our room had a Nile view. Staff there could hardly speak English. "
"This is a great spot! It’s located on the West Bank, away from the hustle and bustle.
We used the transfer service the hotel offered which was on-time and very reasonably priced.
The hotel itself is super! Immaculate! They have a pool, bar area where they serve beer, wine and some spirits. The restaurant was very good as well. They have pizza and burgers, if that’s your liking. We went for the set menu offer which included local mezze, soup, a main (Egyptian or International), and a dessert. All were great. (They also grow a lot of their own fruits and vegetables on site).
After dinner we enjoyed some shisha.
All of this and a bottle of wine was less than $100 CAD dor two people.
Can’t say enough about this place!"
"A hidden Gem for those wanting a more authentic Egyptian stay. We travelled from hurghada for 1 night to do the sunrise balloon trip next day.
Wonderful building ,each room individually decorated with items from owners travels. Plenty of power sockets .mini bar with soft drinks chargable.
Hotel provides breakfast on the pool terrace and theres restaurant serving mixture of european Egyptian food in the evening. There is no alcohol but contact with hotel allowed us to bring our own
The hotel also runs a ferry taxi service for its guests until 1000pm if you wish to go to the tourist centre.
Theres also a pool with wonderful views over the nile.
We were treated with kindness, we had been changed to a better room than booked, as owner though given Ramadan it would be noisy and when she realised it was her birthday ,she brought her a small pottery vase made by local children , a very thoughtful gesture.
Would we go back, yes like a shot , its an amazing hidden gem if looking for something different. "
"We had a fantastic stay at the Steigenberger. Our room was beautiful—very clean, well-equipped, and the bed was very comfortable. We also had a great balcony with comfortable seating and an awesome view of the Nile, which made it even better.
The restaurants were excellent, especially the Thai restaurant—it was a standout for us. The breakfast buffet was also really good with tons of variety, so there was something for everyone.
The pool area was clean and well maintained, and overall the whole property felt very well looked after. The staff were all very friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
Honestly, we don’t have anything negative to say—would definitely stay here again."
"The location is great, just two minutes from the Luxor temple. Unfortunately, the room I got was dirty, below the bed was so much dust that I couldn't breathe properly. The soap dispenser are broken. My room was next to café/ bar where people talk until 3 AM, very noise, I had a hard time sleeping. The staff was ok."
