Top Maam Valey Hotel Reviews

Abbeyglen Castle Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"The hotel was incredibly charming! The rooms are comfortable and clean and the staff were beyond friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. My partner and I both said we’ll return for a longer stay next time!"

The Mariner Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"This was PERFECT stay for us as we traveled around the west of Ireland. Everything was great. Even though they don't have their own car park (aka parking lot), there's a municipal one across the street for only 2 Euro.
I do want to note that our room did not have an air conditioner. There was a fan in the closet, so I'm pretty sure that's accurate. If you travel there in the summer, and it's hot, you want to be prepared for that - especially for Americans expecting every place to have AC.
We will DEFINITELY be going back to Westport and staying at The Mariner again."

The Arch Guesthouse
6/10 Okay
"For a two-night stay in Clifden, this property offered a convenient and comfortable base overall. The check-in process is self-service, which was a little confusing at first, but the host is available by phone if needed.
The room was on the smaller side and a bit dated, and while the bed was adequate for a short stay, it wasn’t the most comfortable. There’s also a wine bar on the ground floor which is associated with the same owner, which appeared to be under renovation during our visit. Breakfast was available for purchase, though we ended up opting for nearby cafés instead.
That said, the location is a real highlight—right in the centre of town and within easy walking distance of shops, pubs, cafés, and grocery stores. Parking was also straightforward, with no fees after 6pm, which made things very convenient. Overall, a solid choice for a short stay if you’re prioritising location."

Knockranny House Hotel and Spa
10/10 Excellent
"The hotel was amazing, the rooms and bathrooms were huge and everything you could want.
The staff at check in were not great though.
The tv didn’t work properly either.
We were all looking forward to using the spa facilities but didn’t bother as we were unaware of the swimming cap policy.
We all had a really great stay and would definitely come back."

The Wyatt Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Great stay!!"

Westport Plaza Hotel
8/10 Good
"We only stayed one night as we were travelling elsewhere the next day. However the hotel was beautiful.helpful staff and nice food."

The Lodge at Ashford Castle
6/10 Okay
"Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Wildes Restaurant was very enjoyable for breakfast and dinner. Just a couple of criticism, the breakfast order of eggs benedict was served on toasted sour dough which was very difficult to cut through and chew and spoiled the enjoyment of it. I believe that traditional English muffins are a better choice to serve eggs benedict on. Although the rack of lamb was beautifully cooked it still required a steak knife to cut it , but this was not provided.
Disappointed with our lunch in the bar area. Beef fat chips were horrible, the fish batter and fish was overcooked.
Found the very noisy pipe hammer in our bedroom every morning between 5 a.m and 6 a.m. to be very alarming and annoying.
The bar dining area furniture was looking tired and not very clean."

Westport Woods Hotel & Spa
10/10 Excellent
"The Staff were nice. The breakfasts were excellent! The room was super spacious. Water, coffee, tea and cookie snacks always offered in room. King size bed was good. Nice property on a lakeside view. Nice bar/lounge area. Large and many lounging areas. Spa requires swim caps so bring one! They do sell them €3.50. Hot Tub was in repair stage. Did not use the spa or pool as no time and do not like swim caps…. Property is huge with lots a grass and trees. A 15 minute walk town area and 10 minute walk to Quay area. Pleasant quiet location. "

Westport Coast Hotel
8/10 Good
"Pretty location but a bit far from town. 10 Euro each way to Uber. Walk to town thru Westport House was nice but wouldn't do it at night. Wish they had a gym and self service laundry. Parking overnight across the street was much easier than behind the hotel. Breakfast room was beautiful and staff attentive. "
