"It is convenient to park your car at this inn. Highland Gate is not the inn but the the restaurant. The Highland Gate restaurant and Marton's Inn are in two separate buildings. The inn's outside apearance and inside conditions are quite mediocre: carpet in the hallway looks dirty at every entrance to the room; there is no rack or shelve for suitcases though the room size is decent; the bathroom has a peculiar smell (not stinky but unpleasant to me), and the double bed (made of two single beds)...

"The location is excellently situated in old town and it is within walking distance to Stirling Castle. As a Hostel, it has exceeded our expectations with its spacious public lounges and kitchen. The facilities were well maintained and staff were friendly. The only complaint we have is that the room we stayed in was lack of air circulation. I did have to phone down to reception at 01:30 due to a party going on in a room next door. It was however dealt with swiftly and this was outwith the hotels control.
