Due to the CNY crowd, the hotel was not able to manage the morning breakfast well. While it is OK to direct the guests to another venue. the food spread should be comparable to appease the guests. I skipped my breakfast as the alternative venue was not befitting of a 4 star hotel.
Btw, it was stated that Hatten Place is a 5 star hotel bt in actual fact, it is a 4 stars hotel. Hotel. com should be more accurate in your presentation.
Everything is so crowded and have to wait, breakfast, lift, etc. Especially the lift, takes forever to reach, it has to wait so long and when it reach, it is always full of people.
This is just the parking lift to reach lobby, then need to change lift again only reach room.
The check in process took awhile to complete but the front desk stuff very helpful so is fine. The room facilities are good in condition but toiletries not given in full set so i still need to call for housekeeping to request for it.
This hotel is a comedy of errors. Here’s a list of everything that went wrong during our stay:
1. Room: dust on every surface, gunk in the corners, furniture had major scratches all over, bottom of shower curtain had mold-looking stains
2. The roll-down blind in our bathroom was broken and hung on by one hook only, exposing the shower and toilet to anyone in the actual room (the glass wall between bathroom and bedroom is plain glass, not blurred or anything).
3. The “winning” moment: our water boiler looked like it had rust at the bottom so I requested a new one. After calling 3 times, they finally brought one - it smelled strongly of sausage and had actual PIECES OF FOOD stuck on the inside!!! Someone clearly used it to cook and staff didn’t bother looking before handing it over.
4. Location is bad, too far to walk to town. The mall it’s located in is completely empty.

This is not a hotel that deserves a 4 star rating, let alone the 5 star rating that Hotels.com gives it on their site.
For starters, the hotel is far to big for the amount of employees. This resulted first of all in long check in queues. Tho they have 6 check in desks available, they only have staff to man 2 of them. The shortness on staff also is represented in the complete lack of training, which shows throughout the whole stay.
When we finally checked in, we were assigned a room that had obviously seen better days. Odd to us, as the hotel looks to be fairly new.
Our first complaints about the room were the copious amounts of dust everywhere (thick visible layers), blood on one of the doors (since even after bringing this up with the hotel, the stain wasn’t removed I decided to do so myself), and black mold in the leaky shower.
When brought up, they told us they would fix these issues, and, in all fairness, mitigated most listed issues fairly well.
However, the complete lack in any training or common sense did result in housekeeping waking us up in the middle of the night to give us the amenities we requested about 4 hours prior. This wouldn’t have been that big an issue if it wasn’t for the pile of bricks with a sheet on top that has to represent a bed and is the most horrendous thing I’ve ever slept on in my whole life.
The breakfast was at least included, but the free for all battle royal feeling that had did not make it any better.

Location was fine ,there free shutter bus, only thing room not clean and Breakfast so so
The bath is dirty.. U can see mud on the toilet bidding, the room is cramped and the bed was not so big n comfort.. Not worth the price and reputation as a new hotel.. Breakfast are the same for two days.. There is a lots to improve..
Nice hotel. Room a bit small even on premium floors. suitable for family of 4. Spacious bathroom. Love the thyme cafe for breakfast. unfortunately not so much choices of food. but the croissants are very delicious. My ad hoc type of hotel. will come again.
Booked two rooms but both rooms had cold showers. Had to complaint several times but issues was not resolved. Disappointing. On a positive note the staff was great and helped when I got a flat car battery. Overall average staying experience.
Overall ok, but the shower head need to change as the head is spoil hence not so fun showering.
Secondly the Aircon need to be fix as too noisy.

Cons:
Room way too small.
No room for luggage. No room safe and no room to hang wet towels.
Pros:
Have included the highest point 360 deg view of Malacca. Can also bring guests which is a big treat. Unfortunately, when we brought our guests, it was closed because it had been raining.
Shower room super dirty .....
Alot of stain brown mark on wall and curtain, but nobody brushing it...... I don't think those stain mark cause 1 or 2 days, so u can imagine how thick those stain mark.
