"Fantastic pre-arrival communication from owner Gina, and a warm welcome when eventually reaching this idyllic place.
Note that the location-pin shown on Google Maps is not accurate. It appears to show the accommodation to be in an urban area - it's not - it's very remote!
So ignore any booking sites that state that there's a bar or shop within 100m - there really isn't!
But the remote location is the main attraction of this place.
The tranquility and views are second to none, and well worth the...

"The hotel was great for an overnight stay, very near Malaga airport. Staff were very friendly, breakfast had a very good selection and cook to order dishes. Free parking in the street beside the hotel or reasonably priced garage parking.
The only downside was the smoking on the roof terrace. As soon as you come out of the lift onto the terrace the smell of cigarette smoke fills the air. It is was so unpleasant and I certainly wouldn’t want to sit round the pool or on the outside terrace and have to smell the smoke all the time. For a hotel that emphasises that it is non smoking inside it should also make it non smoking on the roof terrace, so guests can use the facilities and not have to sit beside smokers when sunbathing or eating and drinking."
Palacio Solecio, a Small Luxury Hotel of the World
10/10 Excellent
"I cannot fault this hotel. Fantastic location, friendly and the room was beautiful. Very simple styling, luxurious without being stuffy. Stunning bathroom. The breakfast was expensive but there are so many options within a stones throw of the hotel as I it didn't matter. "
"Property location is excellent but the rooms itself could be better with cleanliness. Also for a 4 star hotel and superior room stay, providing a robe and slippers would be a great edition. "
"Well-located, the Illunion is a ten minute walk from the train station and just ten minutes from the old town area with all its cafes and restaurants.
The hotel itself was very clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We would stay here again. "
"On the positive, the staff are friendly enough and the communal areas and rooms are lovely. The location is brilliant, with many buses, a bus information hub, train station and city centre on your doorstep. A beach is nearby.
On the negative, the corridors need better lighting and repair (door frames coming away from plaster, holes in walls) the brunch buffet could offer more dietary options and when checking in people, staff must STOP saying their room number out Infront of others (especially when serving women travellers) as it compromises our safety. Just discreetly pass us our room key with the number on it.
On my last night, a very loud couple or more, were getting it on and obviously wanted an audience. I don't necessarily blame the hotel for this, but it was so off-putting."
