"The staff were helpful and friendly, the room was very clean, even the Air Conditioner filter was clean. It looks like the property is being updated slowly as the stairwell had new flooring at the landings, but carpet had been removed from stairs. My room was super clean, however the toilet seat hinges were broken so the seat just fell off when lifted. The shower head was at shoulder height as a lot of older hotels are and the the drain was very slow. I did appreciate that the walls seemed to be well insulated as there was next to no noise even though the hotel was very full."
"Room was spacious & very clean except for the carpet. It seemed to have a sticky residue on it. May have been a disinfectant spray that settled but the floors were the only thing dirty in the room. "
"Great, nice, clean, peaceful, quiet, friendly and respectful place. Staff went above and beyond to please guests. Rooms so clean and fresh smell. Breakfast was a plus. Nice area, close to lots of restaurants, nearby to other popular destinations, near highways and major routes. Near national park, 40 minute drive to French Quarters. A unique place at a unique location."
"I hate New Orleans but we had to make a trip there for reasons not relevant here. We stayed in Slidell for a couple nights so we could get in and out of the area without dealing with the worst of the horrible traffic in New Orleans.
Hotel was clean and staff was nice. Parking lot is a bit tight if you have a large vehicle, but we were always able to find a spot. We didn't get a chance to check out the breakfast, but when we left early the coffee was already made (HUGE PLUS; thank you morning shift !!!).
The real gem was being just down the street (restraunt is on the same back street as the hotel) from a Mexican restraunt that is AWESOME!!! They have dine in & carry out (we dined in but there was so much food we took two FULL boxes of leftovers when we left). I don't think I've ever had better mexican food.
All in all a good stay.
**only suggestion would be for them to upgrade thier tv package. there wasn't much to watch when we were at the hotel and we had no desire to explore the area; wanted to get out of the crappy New Orleans area as soon as humanly possible**"
"This would be my last option. The ride was 39 minutes to the French quarter. There is a few gas stations and McDonald’s, Taco Bell and Wendy’s near by. Less than 3 blocks. Right off the interstate. The price is cheap but maybe not worth it if your visiting the French quarters daily."
