"Worth a trip to Maquoketa, IA just to stay at the Decker Hotel. Charming, historic property at reasonable rates. Serve yourself breakfast was minimal but understandable given the cost. The faithful restoration lets you go back in time while still having modern comforts like central air and updated bathroom. We would go back."
"The entire hotel was very nice. The staff was exceptional. The front desk, staff for friendly, helpful, and really went the extra mile assisting with a couple special requests for kids.
Bartender was friendly, mixed excellent drinks and the prices were fair for a tourist hotel.
Breakfast standard, pool decent
Overall, would highly recommend"
"We enjoyed sitting in the chairs outdoors. We had a great time. A couple restaurants were pretty close so there were plenty of food options. The rooms could use a some renovating. The bathroom could use new tile and repainted. The beds were ok. The staff was friendly. The only issue I had was wanting to use a different credit card to pay than the one holding the room, I guess that isn't allowed there."
"We were dissatisfied that 10 minutes before 9 am the breakfast ending, there was nothing left to eat. Many visitors had to leave with no breakfast. Mind that it was Memorial Day weekend and hours should be extended to holiday hours."
