"This is a charming old-world experience in a well-maintained hotel set in the redwoods beside the Russian River. Rooms are smalll, but clean and comfortable. We had a balcony overlooking the river, which we enjoyed. The staff was helpful and friendly. The owner is obviously very proud of his establishment and dedicated to making it a good experience for his patrons. The breakfast is ample. The attached restaurant provides a German cuisine."

"I booked a stay here for my and my partner’s anniversary. Upon arrival, we received an incredibly warm and festive greeting by staff, a delicious glass of wine, and a run down of the property amenities and suggestions for local activities and attractions. There notified us of some damage to the original room I booked by previous guests, and they were nice enough to upgrade us to a larger, poolside suite at no extra charge. "Beautiful hotel . Clean and cozy. Rooms have big window withnlots of light. I wanted a getaway for a couple days with my partner and his was exactly what I wanted . Beds were so soft and cozy and welcoming charm was perfect. I will come back again soon and recommend to anyone ."

"Our room did not have a working heater (it was summer but chilly), so the manager kindly upgraded us to a suite. I'd recently had the bad news that my cancer had relapsed, and his kindness, and the beautiful suite, really helped my mood. The atmosphere was welcoming and the employees outstanding. We ate several times at the attached restaurant/deli, Grossman's, and loved the food and the staff there."

"The Stavrand is the kind of place where you naturally begin to slow down, mentally and physically. The property has such a calm, grounded feeling to it, and it really lets you settle in without even trying.
