"This motel was rated exceptional. What? Clean but shabby rooms. I asked the desk clerk if there was a restaurant in the area besides Hardee’s. He said that was it. A quick Google search showed he was lying or misinformed. The next morning, at 9:15, he ignored the “Do Not Disturb” sign to tell me something incoherent about wanting to shut down the motel by 10, even though checkout was at 11. I was working online at the time. And the maid talked loudly while cleaning the other rooms on the corridor, beginning around 8 AM."

"For the price it doesn’t get much better. Rooms are clean and the front desk guy will truly brighten your day. The outside, is dated. The layout of the hotel is odd, and there is this massive indoor pool that connects each wing of the hotel. I bet in the 70s this place was awesome lol. The new owners have updated most of the hotel. It seems like the upper levels are not utilized. That made no difference to me. Its clean. My ac unit worked it is dated though. And the shower could be newer but no mold, and no deal breakers. Overall, clean, fair priced, and awesome guy at the front."

"The gentleman at the front desk suggested watching the sun rise over the river to satisfy my desire to experience Hammond in an overnight stay as I was only passing through on a time schedule. I didn't really want to get up at 6 am but it was the highlight of my short stay outside of strolling through this cute town. The only thing I did not like was not having a room with a window to the outside. I did not care for that. Next time..."

"The parking lot, was filled with old mattresses and furniture. The garbage bins were overflowing. The hallways were not vacuumed and littered with food and crumbs. The plaster was coming off the wall in the bathroom. Overall this hotel was not a pleasant place to stay even for one night."
