Lovely place to stay

It’s a very quiet and tastefully decorated accommodation. Good to have en-suite bathroom and the host is friendly and very helpful! Place is clean and breakfast provided although I did not get to have it as was on the go. However the host offered a quick breakfast snack which was very kind

Our hostess was incredibly delightful, Jamila made our stay memorable. The property is quaint and has so much character. It is very close to public transportation and takes about 10 minutes to get to the Old Port. Would love to return !

I arrived quite late after my work and the owner was so nice and accommodating ! She asked me not to ring the bell so as to not wake the other guests and she waited for me to call her so she could open for me. The room was very comfortable and beautiful. I had to leave early in the morning and was unable to enjoy the breakfast but I sincerely hope to stay again at this lovely Chambre d'Hotes just next to the Marseille train station

I would not recommend this place for anyone. First of all. You can entry the apartment only in the morning and in the evening after 7.30pm. I had been told that leaving luggage before check-in was possible but turned out it wasn't. No guest can have the key to the front door which is something I have never experienced before. Hostess lives in the apartment with 2 dogs, 2 cats and with a very loud parrot. Parrot is grey parrot which is an endangered African species with extreme intelligence. I felt sorry for the bird who was so loud it woked me up in the morning. Also the bigger dog was loud and barked every time the door bell rang. Bed was good and I had my own shower but there was no air condition and the room turned out quite hot. There was also this humming voice all night so I had to sleep with ear plugs. Breakfast was served with toasted bread, waffels, coffee and orange juice. Pretty basic and okay. Hostess was however quite nice but she didnt speak English too well. Biggest cons were the timetable with entering and of course the animals.

Enjoyed some lovely chats with the host (and her cute pets) as well as a sweet French breakfast. Would recommend to stay there as the location is also very central.

Lovely hosts but it was a little difficult to find the place and check in is available only after 7:30 PM which can be inconvenient. Also it should be mentioned on the listing that there are animals at the property, cute dogs but it would be nice if I knew ahead of time so I could take my allergy pills

This place is NOT a hotel. Its a room for rent, with the owner across the hallway. No AC, no tv, bathroom tiny and smelled. 2 stars is a gift. If the price was 50E, I would have been satisfied.

Not a Hotel

No AC even in July! Late check in 7:30 PM with no flexibility or luggage holding. This is not a hotel, but a private residence. If you book the “art gallery” room with the mirror please know that it is a tiny room (see pictures) with no air and 1 window that you’re only allowed to open at night. To use the bathroom in the night, you need to leave the room and be on camera in a shared space. Plus, it’s actually located 200 meters away, so not advised if you have a lot of luggage. I’ve always trusted Hotels.com but after this experience I’ll need to vet much more carefully.

It’s an old apartment. Carried my luggage to the fifth floor without a lift. The shower is too small, and the pipe was clogged. Toilet is shared, located outside of room. I arrived a bit late at night which is my problem, but I was very unhappy that the owner let her dog out without notice, which scared my partner. And she is not very friendly. When I was checking out, it was very annoying that she kept knocking at my door.

The cash key deposit is a scam. The property has two doors to get in, the deposit only gives you access to one of the doors, as a result you do not have access to the property unless the property owner is home. Additionally, you have to work around her work schedule and routine. As a result you have to be out of the door by 10 am and back for 7:30 pm to be let back in, otherwise you don’t have access to the property. She also has an early bedtime , making it hard to go out at night. You need to call her as well to be let back in making for an expensive phone bill if you do not have a French SIM card. There are also many pets on the property that are not listed (birds). There is no air conditioning as well. The description of the property is very misleading, you are essentially staying in her apartment , not a separate space. I tried to get a partial refund as we found out all these inconveniences only after check in but she was quite rude and dismissive. A huge let down, we had to book another place last minute.

A nightmare of disastrous proportions

I stayed here on 6 February and since I have the hotel a truthful review I wax thrown out by the owner after racial and personal abuse ! The room given was a mess with a bed only and no windows and toilet outside in hall ! No keys were given and I was constantly threatened by owner with her dog ! I had earlier complained to hotel com but they didn’t believe me this time I went to take photos and videos anx I have evidence now ! I shall upload those pictures and videos if needed ! I was forced to pay 5 euros to sleep on night of 14 too and it was only sleep ! I wax given room at 2030 and left at 900 ! It wax only to prove my case I went back to gather photographic evidence

A total nightmare of a prison

I booked the hotel looking at website! A studio with double bed and breakfast! I arrived at1600 check in was at 1930! On fifth floor with no lift and toilet on seperate key outside bedroom! The owner forgot to switch electrical supply and o had to go downstairs to first floor to ask again ! I gave all this information to hotels com and asked to relocate but they refused I am asthmatic and disabled and was abused and after a truthful review I wax thrown out by owner on 7 February at 930 I went to nearby hotel terminus and checked in on my own ! Owner refused refund ! I had booked same room as looking at information on website for 14 February and since owner refused all refund and denied her misbehaviour I decided to go on 14 February to record photo and videos which I got when her dog was not jumping on me ! She abused me racially and personally ! I am a gold member with hotel com with 11 free nights to use means I have done 110 stays in last two years but this was exceptional and totally unacceptable on part of hotel !

Le Check -in pas avant 19H30. Le check-out 10hrs. Demande d'une caution de 700 euros. Sinon la carte d'identité a été gardé par l'hôte ce qui est illégal. La présence d'un chien sans une surveillance humaine pas très rassurant. Quand à la chambre aucune commodité pas de penderie pas de lampe de chevet . La housse et les oreillers pas très propres Pareil pour la salle de bain pas de crochet pour suspendre . Le petit-déjeuner bien.

Concierge agressive, le logement ne correspond pas à l'adresse indiquée. Accès par une porte de garage métallique. Petit déjeuner dans un autre immeuble à plus de 200m. Demande de caution de 700 euros en liquide. Nous avons décidé de ne pas prendre la chambre et demandons le remboursement, qui pour le moment nous est refusé.
