Disappointed with our stay at Melbourne City Suites. We booked for 7 people, and when we arrived there was only bedding for 6 people.
When we questioned this at reception they acknowledged that the "room rate was for 7 people" but it would be an extra fee for a rollaway bed.
Additionally, I opted for the 'self-check in' in which you are supposed to be sent an email with instructions the day prior. I never received the email, and on the morning of check in, called reception to ask them to resend it, to which they said they would, but again it never came through.
Checking in was extremely clunky- Melbourne City Suites operate out of a hotel room within the facilities of another hotel, the reception is in a hotel room on the 8th floor, and was a slow process. There were 4 people in front of us and we were waiting in line for approx 30 minutes.
Parking was also an issue. I called prior to booking to booking about the parking situation as it was important for us to book somewhere with parking. They stated they had a car park and to provide the vehicles registration and they will reserve a car park.
Upon arrival, the car park (a public car park) was full. I was very fortunate to wait until someone left and I was able to get a park. I just found that saying a 'car park was reserved' for us was extremely misleading. Also, the overnight fee was cheaper than the hotel car park fee, which we had already paid for.
Overall the customer service was very disappointing.
