Early September short break at The Victoria

We loved our stay at the Victoria Hotel. Beautifully and tastefully renovated. The Gardens were beautiful too ! Excellent position to explore Anglessey and walking distance from the wonderful Menai Bridge. We thought the breakfast was really good and well worth it. Lovely staff too.

Great position for both Anglesey and the mainland. Helpful staff and well appointed room. It would be really helpful to have the option of lighter duvet, the one provided was too warm for us and made a good nights sleep difficult.

Hotel was lovely. Room on the small side. Drinks expensive. Avoid the sirloin steak as expensive and poor quality and badly cooked! Breakfast was lovely

Primarily a pub with rooms, rather than a hotel, it is part of quite a large chain so expect a corporate identity. That said, the staff were friendly and helpful. The room we had felt small and the bathroom felt cramped, also the bathroom could have been cleaner (shower tray and skirting boards). The room was very noisy from quite early in the morning and there was quite a lot of noise from other rooms. When eating in the restaurant, the quality of meals served seemed a bit hit and miss and is best described as adequate rather than special in any way, the menu exactly matches that of our local Chef and Brewer. I don’t think we will be returning.

The staff were very friendly and efficient. There were a couple of issues with the room which were resolved. The gardens and view across Menai Straits were lovely. The main menu was quite limited, but the food was OK and portion size generous. Breakfast was good. Main issue was there was no designated resident parking which was an issue as the pub/restaurant side was very busy.

Beautiful hotel in good location

We had a lovely stay in this hotel which appears to have been refurbished to a very high standard. Our room overlooked the Menai straits with a balcony. It was absolutely beautiful and we were lucky with the weather. The only criticism would have to be the breakfast. Day one we waited for an hour for a fairly disappointing full English and day two we opted for the farmer’s breakfast which was not nice. Overall though I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The property would get a 5 star rating but sadly my room was next to the kitchen and early morning noise 6am can be heard and then tonight I can here loud music along with the general kitchen noise as my hearing is bad I can only assume anyone with normal hearing will be disturbed more than myself in this room.

Lovely hotel. Spent 5 nights here in September. Very convenient location for sightseeing around the area. We ate here every evening and breakfast. The food was excellent. There were few staff but the service was very good.

Restaurant was not in the same league as the hotel. Service staff operated at their convenience rather than client. Poor food (toad in the hole was execreble! But friends were paying so I didn’t to offend). Hotel staff were great and rooms were excellent.

Absolutely beautiful outside space, a well kept garden with superb views over the Menai Strait. Room was lovely, very clean and well maintained; the bed was comfortable and we had a great balcony (again, with views over the Strait). The shower was ok, just about warm enough. The staff were friendly and the service was very good (special mention to Nathan, whether first thing at breakfast or serving us at the bar, unfailingly polite and on the ball). We enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning.
