This was one of the most impressive B&B’s I have stayed in… attention to detail was commendable… very impressive… highly recommended. Great prices as well!!!

A wonderful welcoming place to stay. It was especially interesting hearing the history of the property. The room was lovely and the breakfast selection was excellent. We will definitely stay again.

Very comfortable B&B. Breakfasts were hot, fresh and delicious. Enjoyed the independence of tea/coffee, juice availability and sitting area to chat with friends. Overlooks the canal and campground where other cyclist friends were staying. Thank you Caroline and John.

John and Carolyn were fantastic hosts, the feature breakfasts every morning were excellent. Merrickville is a beautiful historic town which is great to walk around. The B&B is an interesting historical building with great added modern additions like the pool, hot tub and sauna. At an additional cost you can sample from the wine and whiskey bar. Beautiful spot my wife and I highly recommend the location.

The property is wonderful and tranquil. Absolutely spotless! The pool and hot tub are such a great place to go at the end of the day. Carolyn and John are fabulous hosts. So welcoming, kind, helpful and friendly! We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend. Definitely the best place to stay in the area. Oh - and the made to order breakfast was delicious too!

Part of the guest house was a large one room school house from 1840 that was now a dining room and comfortable sitting and gathering place for guests. Our hosts were knowledgeable about the town and area which was most helpful.

1840 Guest House has a quiet setting beside the Rideau Canal walking distance to everything in Merrickville. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast was very yummy, especially the homemade croissants. Carolyn was a very welcoming and attentive host.

We really enjoyed our stay in Merrickville. A quaint little town to visit. This B and B was exceptional! The host was great and very friendly and informative. Our room was immaculate and very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. We loved the antiques throughout as well. Will recommend this to anyone and will stay here again if in the area.

The property is an updated design that combines historic presentation with modern convenience. Very well appointed suites in terms of layout and furnishings. Also has great amenities, balcony overlooking the canal locks, a dipping pool, hot tub, and sauna. Small area, but well designed, and easy to access.

Very tastefully restored school house. Wonderful breakfast included, access to pool - hottub - sauna. 2 lovely doggy greeters on site, very accommodating staff. Quiet and relaxing place, very unique building with high end finishes. All the comforts of a hotel, but the charm of a B B. Walk to all main sights of Merrickville, restaurants and more. Exceeded expectations, would stay again.
