"check-in took forever and I had to listen to the hotel deliberately blaring music on the first floor. treadmill was broken in the 'fitness center' which was the only reason I chose the hotel over cheaper ones, and when I took the stairs back to my room there were men hanging out, drinking beer in the stairwell. When I stayed at this hotel a few years ago I thought it was a good deal but it must be under new management."

"Parking lot is uneven and almost impossible to navigate safely or with wheeled luggage etc. Bed frames tilted downward at the headboard. Had to request extra pillows to be able to sleep decently. Streaming service did not work the entire stay even after requesting front desk help. Someone elses hair was in the bathtub. Luggage trollies are a pain to use and only steer from one side, if you're lucky. Cheap, uncomfortable, thin bedding with uncomfortably small square pillows for a queen bed. Staff is friendly and helpful. Convenient location. Breakfast 10/10 very fresh and clean area. Easy check in/out. Indoor pool is clean and comfortable temperature. Quiet."

"I did not like the fact that Hampton Inn, Galveston Tx, charges parking fees of $20 per night. That was maybe was a hidden cost unknown to Expedia. I was able to get the night desk to waive the charges, thankfully. LaQuinta in San Antonio also charged me nightly for outside parking which I was dumb enough not to notice until after checkout. Hope this review alerts future travelers. It seems this is becoming hotel industry policy so be on the alert. It seems fees will be waived if customer complains."
