It has been a while since the last time I stayed at the Holiday Inn. I believe it used to be called Sunspree Resort at that time. Such a vast difference between then and now, it's night vs day.
At check in, the room wasn't ready until a few minutes after the 3pm check in time. Everyone else I traveled with were able to check into their rooms over an hour earlier. That wasn't a significant issue because I still had access to walk around the property and go have a drink or lunch.
Walking to the room located on Building One, you have to walk on the outside of the main buffet restaurant, by the swimming pool. The area was all cobble or brick walkway, which makes pulling heavy suitcases a challenge. If you want to avoid that aggravation, you have to walk directly through the restaurant to stay on tiled floors. Once we got to the building, there was a sign posted for 'out of service' for one of the elevators. Once I finally got to the room and put the keycard in, I couldn't get the door to open and had to get assistance from someone in housekeeping. Apparently, I had to be a linebacker and shove my shoulder into the door to get it open. The room was dated with a rusted mini fridge that appeared to come from the swapmeet. The ocean view was great.
Food at the buffet wasn't toogood. Stay away from any roasted meat, it's dry and tasteless. The saving grace for food is the Jerk Hut.
They need to clean up the seaweed at the beach to get more open areas for swimming.
