"We had a wonderful stay at the Lawrence. The bed was the most comfortable out of all our stays so far in Portugal. From our check in to breakfast it was perfect. The young lady at breakfast was a delight and had many great suggestions. "

"Location was walkable into old town, train station, tour buses (434, 435 located at the train station) and sintra bus station. Our room was in the back, therefore nice and quiet. Enjoyed cup of tea on the upper terrace looking onto the patio. Staff very informative. Only thing missing is a small refrigerator in the room. Good restaurants nearby. Little fruit stand/convenience store across street. Pingo Doce grocery storea bit of a hike but worth it."

The only thing to understand before booking is that it’s a charming converted mansion so sound proofing may not be the best and some rooms might feel a bit tight, especially if you’re a larger person. "This place was absolutely charming with lots of characteristics!! We stayed 2 nights in the room 'Moon River'(queen size bed). The room was very clean, spacious and with lovely big windows. We appreciated the attention in the small details. Breakfast was great and met our needs (cold and hot options). The location was excellent and walking distance (15min) to old town of Sintra (keep in mind you're on a mountain so lots of hills/steep climbs). "Great location near the train station, right on the border between the old town with the scenic views and beautiful hikes, and the modern city centre. Great big room with loads of space, lovely bathroom, little kitchenette corner with a microwave, table, chairs, etc. Loved staying there. "
