"The room was a disaster; worn down bed, bathroom dirty, mold in the shower, etc … The girl at the reception was friendly and took the time to explain the neighborhood. But else the stay was not worth its money. The pictures on hotels.com are from a few years ago and do not show the current state of the room(s). Try to avoid this place if possible."

"We had a fantastic stay here. Breakfast service to our room was amazing. Getting to sit outside in the morning with delicious food taking in the views were a highlight. Giuliano, the driver who shuttled us into Bellagio, was also fantastic. Would highly recommend!"

"The location is beautiful and quiet. It is next to restaurant that the hosts own (they will treat like family. I had one of my best restaurant experiences there) and was never disturbed with noise. "Albergo Sala was a unique experience in the small village of Valbrona. It was quiet and not much to do but that's what we were looking for. The staff were excellent and very helpful and the food was wonderful. The inn is historic and has been in the family for a few hundred years! As it is off the beaten track it is advisable to have a car as public transport is infrequent and challenging and taxi service is quite expensive. Aside from that it was a great place to stay a few days."

"Loved the hotel close to ferry and bus stop is a 7 min walk however the ferry schedule is very limited so you need to plan accordingly as not all routes stop at San Giovanni. Hotel is not in Bellagio"

The room had an unusual set up and was difficult to access/store our bags. There was no surface or space big enough to put them (we had small bags!). The shower was in the same room as the bed. "One of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed at. Should be at the price we paid. Great amenities. Pool area n hot tub gorgeous. One thing I didn’t like was room service food. It was ok we did it twice n twice we barely ate the food. Rooms were impeccable and beautiful views from our balcony terrace. Staff very nice and helpful."

"Lovely, quiet stay, good breakfast and breathtaking view! Just a heads-up, there’s no ramp at the entrance, so you’ll have to carry your luggage up the stairs. A/C wasn’t available during our stay either. The weather was nice for keeping the windows open, but with allergy season, it’s kind of a trade-off: either close the window and deal with the heat, or open it and deal with allergies."
