"My main issue with this hotel was the poor sound insulation. The walls and doors let a lot of noise through, especially loud door slamming during the evening and night. I woke up several times because of the noise, which made my stay uncomfortable. I find this level of noise disturbance unacceptable for a hotel stay.
Another issue was the flooring in the room. The floor was extremely cold, there were no carpets, and the hotel did not provide slippers or sandals. Most guests do not automatically plan to bring their own, especially since hotel rooms usually have carpets or basic indoor slippers for comfort."
"Excellent made to order breakfast; many options in the bar for dinner. beautiful surroundings; wish it wasn't raining so we could have walked around the property. Staff was extremely helpful. we had a bit of trouble finding it, as our nav system sent us on a wild goose chase. The lady at check-in was very apologetic, really not her fault. Would stay there again. we had an issue with the TV and the shower, but nothing that would stop us from recommending it."
"Pro’s - The room we stayed in was clean and bug free. There was lots of parking. The property backed on to the water. The staff (we only saw 2 workers) were moderately friendly.
Con’s - property and rooms were very dated and not well maintained. A few things were broken (TV remote and juice machine). The first room we were shown had bugs in the window, both inside and in between the glass and the fireplace was not functioning. Breakfast was acceptable but not great. The building and property were not well maintained. There was no path down to the lake, it was uneven ground and grass with an abandoned “cottage” near the water. There were 3 levels, upper, ground and lower (below ground), think “back split”. The lower level felt like you were staying in someone’s basement. The phone for the room was unplugged, wrapped up and placed in a drawer. The building and grounds were not warm and inviting, they felt more institutional and cold.
We stayed in a Best Western in Huntsville, with the same type of room, for almost the exact same price and the Best Western was so much better.
We would not return here again."
