"nol kyoto sanjo is a true gem of a hotel/ryokan. The location was perfect: close to all the major destinations in central Kyoto and within walking distance to Gion. Our room was a combination of western style comfort and japanese style ambiance. The room with two beds and a nice sofa was spacious and comfortable, the bathroom had a nice shower and a hiba bath. The sink area had a double-sided large mirror that was innovative in design and very convenient for two people to use at the same time....

" The location of the hotel is amazing, right next to a very popular photography spot in Gion. Because of this, expect some noises as there are always photographers outside around the clock. Washer dryer is really convenient. The rooms are very well maintained. Short walk to many stores and shops in Gion. "

"We stayed in a 2 bedroom, 2 bath tatami room. There was plenty of space to spread out. The space was darker, the few windows did not let in much light. But, overall clean & comfortable. The location was great, not too busy, but close enough to tourist attractions. My husband appreciated the complimentary beer in the lobby."
