"If you looking for a quiet family oriented place for 1-2 nights outside Kyoto with a Ryokan and privacy. This is the place. Bring lots of games and books, nice walks along the river. It is not a large hotel and it is not easy to get to. But the right circumstances make this a perfect experience. "

"Our recent stay at NIPPONIA Miyama was unforgettable — not just because of the beautifully restored houses, but because every detail showed how thoughtful and considerate the team is. The atmosphere is calm, zen, and deeply connected to the surrounding nature. What truly stood out was the hospitality. The staff went above and beyond to tailor activities just for us. They arranged a private hike to a nearby waterfall, followed by a farm‑to‑table experience where we learned to identify local...

"Beautiful hotel, room was great and really big compared to other Japanese hotels I stayed in. Great, convenient location."

"We enjoyed our stay at this hotel - it was very authentic Japanese style of beds on the floor which we found surprisingly comfortable. The only glitch, which I feel compelled to mention, is the 'smoking' area that is right at the entrance by the main door of the hotel.

"Very convenient location."

"As international visitors with several pieces of luggage, we faced difficulties during our journey in Kyoto because the hotel would not store our bags for an extra day after check-out."

"Great location. Western/international feeling but comfortable and great rooms."

"The breakfast wasn’t worth the price. The size of the room was OK, the shower and tub were dated considering the bath culture in Japan."
