"The room and shower area are compact but have been renovated and are easy to use. The refrigerator is on the larger side and convenient. There is no hair conditioner provided. (Left behind by mistake?) It would be nice to have paper available."

"Stayed 5 days at this property. Did not have our room cleaned once. They emptied the trash cans one time, did not leave towels or make beds. There were coke cans on the balcony when we arrived, bathroom was not the cleanest either. I asked for towels to be brought to our room and was told I would have to come and pick them up myself. The view from the balcony was very nice but I will not be returning."

"The building and the staff were great! Such a cute property and a really nice room. Only downside was that it was pretty loud due to traffic noise outside (and an early morning party in the parking lot next door). But the staff and amenities were really top notch, and breakfast was very tasty both days!"

Overall, this property offers the business/ casual travellers a great location in downtown Norfolk with easy access to waterfront activities, nearby parking, convention spaces, a terrace pool, and limited dining but with better choices nearby. Loss of MacArthur Mall is a significant blow to the downtown vibrancy. And time has exacted its toll on the property which needs cosmetic attention in virtually all areas."

"If you’re on a budget then suck it up and use them but be prepared for hardship. It smells like smoke and urine. No overnight room service for towels or etc. Breakfast is sad. Not recommended for families or children young in age. They will do their best to make things work. Pool needs to be cleaned. Otherwise housekeeping staff is fantastic!!!"

"They had smoking rooms and non-smoking rooms we went into the smoking first and it looked like they threw the box springs in mud and just put them back in the room. We went to the non-smoking room on one bed obvious dog hair all over I have pictures and the other bed had been used. If I didn't have to give any stars they would have got zero. Unless you are absolutely desperate no matter of fact sleep outside."

"Been to hotels where I have been late due to traffic and never had a problem no extra hidden fees. The man working front desk on 7/2 charged me $56 dollars when in the email stated $24 dollars not for each night. The man never gave me an explanation because I didn’t hear him well enough he said it quietly. Until I noticed what I was charged in my bank account. So that’s annoying! I have been to hotels similar to this where you walk into the room (when you asked for a smoke free room) smelling...

"Staff was very helpful and polite while checking in and thru out our entire stay room was clean and large"

"There was an amazing amount of beverages and snack items available near the front desk. Anything from cold sodas and water to wine and beer could be purchased. The breakfast was fine. There were pancakes, toast, bagels, and premade omelets and bacon. Not a lot of choices but enough to start your day. I’d stay here again because of close proximity to Norfolk airport."

I went to the front desk 3 times to make them aware of this issue and all three times was told maintenance would go up and fix it. The 3rd time, they even personally called me and said they went up to the room and it was cooling down, but when I got up there after seeing the fireworks, the room was at 81 degrees.
