"My husband booked this hotel because he thought it was cool that it was an older building and the rooms were only in the 2nd and 3rd floor above a bar & restaurant. The room looked cute- modern decor in an old building. I’m not a neat freak but I do inspect the room. We hadn’t touched the bed and right there under the decor pillow lay two long stands of hair that was clearly not either of ours. Yuck. In the shower, I found several pieces of hair. "Clean and in good location"

"While this is an older building, the room was very clean as we're all the amenity spaces. "

"We were in town for an event at a different location and didn't spend much time at the hotel. The property was nice enough and I would stay there again due to it's central location downtown, although this is the first hotel I have ever stayed at which charged an early check-in fee for an afternoon check-in. Keep this in mind if you plan on checking in before about 3PM."

"I did not feel safe staying here. The room smelled like stale cigarettes. There was not much left of a lumpy mattress. The walls were so thin I didn’t get much sleep. A homeless guy in a wheelchair was right outside my door when I left one time."

"Cleanliness- beds with stains, the smell was bad( smoke)bathroom,parking lot also dirty. Loud noises very late at night that lasted into the early hours of the morning. The staff was ok, but not the best. Not worth the money we paid. "

"A decent room for a decent price. This property is actually 2 hotels in one U-shaped building (Howard Johnson and Travelodge) and they share a parking lot. The room was clean and had a lightly mod aesthetic. The shower had good water pressure and temperature. The free breakfast in the front office wasn't a huge spread but hey, it's free!"

"The Element is a great hotel for Reno. Their breakfast was amazing! The rooms were nice and clean. The staff was extremely polite and helpful. The bar was fabulous as well. The hotel does a lot of little things for the guests which was appreciated such as a happy hour, water and coffee available anytime. The only draw back is the hotel is located on a busy street so it can be loud in the evening."

"The area was in an industrial part of town and not the best part of town! Parking was OK. The hotel staff was very good. We didn’t have any interaction with the housekeeping staff other than getting clean towels. The breakfast was very good and the breakfast staff was very accommodating. The only thing negative in the room was I didn’t have a very comfortable chair and there was no counter space in the bathroom."

"Grounds were a mess. Old mattresses puled in the pool area, trash on the lawn and no accomodation for modern tech, ie no charging ports, bad lighting etc. Sheets were freshly washed but were dingy. If these were my sheets at home they would have been donated to a local animal shelter at this point. Due to high demand for rooms in Reno this weekend the nightly rate, $181, was well above what I would expect to pay for a room with minimal amenities, linens that should have been replaced long ago...
