I made reservations in December for a family event in May. When I went to check in, they told me my reservation was canceled because my credit card was declined. A blatant lie. Also I never received a notice that it was canceled. They then proceeded to tell me that they were sold out, but could offer me a lesser room at the same rate - a room with curtains falling off the window, pictures pulled off the wall, the bathroom a wreck. I totally got scammed! It’s too bad because the hotel is in such a convenient location. I guess that is how they get away with doing what they do. Welcome to NYC!

J'ai adoré tout le fonctionnement de l'hôtel. Nous avions réservé pour la chambre exécutive qui était formidable! J'ai adoré les vallets super sympathiques. J'ai eu un petit pépin avec mon rideau de chambre, le temps d'un instant, ils sont venus le réparer. J'ai adoré mon séjour en famille à cet hôtel.

The only drawback I had was that we were on the 18th floor and the 19th floor they had it under construction, they had an incredible noise doing work, we called to complain and they told us that they couldn't stop, that's not right on their part because you don't go to a hotel for that

I’ve seen some really bad reviews about this hotel and it really ain’t as bad as what people are saying. The lady that checked us in went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable. There is only 1 lift to the 18th floor but I never had to wait long for it to come. The room was comfortable and clean. The only downside is there isn’t any chairs/table in the room. No glassware, no fridge or any amenities that are useful. There was a little mold on the ceiling in the bathroom as well and the fixtures are a little worn. Other than that, the hotel was fine.

I was worried after reading the reviews of this hotel. My guess is many reviewers were comaring the price of the hotel to the luxury they thought it would pay for. The hotel was completely fine. The staff was great. The location was absolutely amazing. And the hotel ( we stayed on the 18th floor) was perfectly fine.

Disgusting
This was the worst hotel I have stayed in. Families beware… there is literally no way to contact the front desk for anything. The room had more issues than it had amenities. The shower was unusable and had black stuff dripping by into it.. but I couldn’t get a hold of anyone to do anything by about it. When I went down to the front desk to address it, there were about 12 people in line and we had reservations. I called 5 times and was never able to get ahold of a front desk staff. I found a manager who said he was going to come talk to me, but never did. And what’s worse was we were on the executive level in the newly renovated rooms. I’d be scared to know what the unrenovated rooms look like… I have videos of the other broken items (bathroom door would not close at all, blinds would not open, broken drawers..) but I’m unable to upload videos.

Worst experience in NYC ever!! Would never recommend that hotel to anyone, not even my worst enemy! Between bugs in the shower and flickering bedroom lights, that hotel is off my travel list!

Helpful staff & great location. Rooms could use an update & mostly clean but maids & staff are willing to help in anyway they can to improve your stay. Would recommend staying here.

Booked a room on 18th floor. Clean, large, dual shower heads in bathroom, 2 king beds. Hotel failed to disclose they were doing construction on 19th floor. Why in the world would they be working all night? Banging, jack hammering sounds. Called to front desk at 130am and multiple times after that before my frustration left me no other choice but to go to lobby at 430am in my pajamas to complain! There were 5 others complaining about the same thing. Was moved down to 8th floor. While it was quiet the room was so dirty, the door didn’t close properly and it was a double bed. Complete downgrade from the 700 a night rate I had paid for! Manager promised to refund a full night and provide a discount on 2nd night. Upon returning from my vacation, said manager has been unresponsive to my email and calls. Terrible customer service! Only good about this hotel is the location. Walking distance to major tourism spots like time square.

Nice hotel room and especially nice to have your “own” elevator to 18th floor. It was cold outside and the heat didn’t work at all! The lobby was busy every day and people in lines blocked the access to the elevators

I didn't like it at all. Two of three Elevators were broken down for all my three days stay. People have to wait long line to get in or out. The front desk people was not accommodate to me which assigned me to a room far away from elevator even I had 10 pieces of luggage. So for all my three days stay, I only went down to the street level for two times.

WORST SERVICE AND EXPERIENCE. The hotel is doing construction and failed to tell their guests! At 8:45AM they had drilling so loud we couldn’t hear each other talk. If I would have known, I would not have booked this hotel. They moved us to another room not at the executive suites and still you can hear the construction. They ended moving us yet again to another room that was definitely not 4 star quality. More like 2! They also gave us the wrong room key to another room while there was someone else’s luggage in it. Huge security issue! The people are the front desk were incompetent.

The room was too small for 4 people and there's no where to lay out and unpack your luggage. The room never got cool or comfortable, it looks like some black mold on the floor by the carpet by the window. My family and i chucked in on November 10th then on November 11th we went outside the hotel but couldn't get back to our room because all elevators to the 18th floor and above was broken/not working. We have to climb up them stairs to the 18th floor with a 3 year old child up and down in the meantime no sympathy or apologies from the hotel staff or management even as we check out early before the entire stay. November 11th the day of the broken elevators after climbing all 18th floors of stairs we came down once for dinner but missed a whole Saturday night of New York City time Square excitement because no one wants to go up and down those stairs anymore.

Elevators did not work. Had to walk 18 flights of stairs with luggages. Room was not cleaned on the daily. No fresh towels. No air conditioning, and stuffy hot room with poor air ventilation.

I reserved two rooms for our family trip. One room has no refrigerator and should ask the hotel. The hotel said that customer should ask to have a refrigerator. i have never heard this comment before. Also thermometer doesn’t work so the room didn’t come heat. Another room has cockroaches, horrible. I know the hotel location is perfect to trip for manhattan but there are many options not even this hotel. Parking lot is good but you should pay when in and out, very expensive. Only hotel pay the parking fee during nights. Please think about that to book this property.

I like the convenient location and staff, however construction around the 18th floor is still ongoing. It might be causing plumbing problems; My shower stopped draining mid-shower and I was only able to rinse off with the sprayer.

Booked 2 rooms (2 queen beds each) were not available when we arrived. Very disappointed, additional room and pull out beds arranged while we waiting. Breakfast and parking were supposedly complementary but wasn’t available as well. Unpleasant experience and it’s unacceptable at all. Expedia needs to check on their partner hotels to ensure what’s available vs what’s not. very inconvenient.

It was the worst experience I ever had the bathtub reaked of mold there were flys and nats and insects walking all over the ceiling of the shower lights in the room were not working in the room and I was woken up could not sleep all morning because of extreme loud construction noise from inside of the hotel . Our stay didn't happen. After a day out in the city, we retired to the room around 10 pm. To our disbelief, there was no AC. We contacted the hotel and they confirmed there was a problem with the AC, but for whatever reason they failed to tell us that at checkin. Needless to say, they brought a fan to the room where which made no difference. When the fan was delivered, we informed maintenance that the room smelled of mold and that there were roaches, but nothing was done. We called hotels.com and advised what was going on and they tried to call the front desk to confront the situation, but never answered their phone. We are grateful for hotels.com understanding our concern and helping us to transition to a much more acceptable hotel. Never staying at this hotel again.

The room was very small; it did not have even a table. There was an old chair in a corner. The noise during the afternoon was terrible due to renovations upstairs. The carpet was dirty. The worst experience I have ever had with a hotel. We didn't get the room we paid for and after arguing with 2 managers and the director of the hotel we were finally given a decent room. Still was not what we paid for and we did not get reimbursed.

This was right in the middle of everything. Once you check in you can walk anywhere and it would be close! Love it! Renovation is going on but only during the day when most people are out so hardly notice it.

The shower did not drain, and parts of the shower were broken. Staff was very rude. There was construction going on in the room next to ours that started at 745, drilling, saws, hammers loud construction. Staff was very unapologetic about broken shower and construction noise.

Good location, but it is being remodeled...we did not know this and the noise was bad. The tub drain was clogged and they never fixed it.

The room was nice but the hotel has a couple of defects such as the curtains cannot be lowered, you have to call the engineer every day if you want to lower or raise the curtains because they do not have a remote control for that, it is fine if it is night and you want to see the views of the city, but then in the morning it becomes too uncomfortable because you can't sleep because of the sunlight. I was there for just 3 days and my second day was completely horrible because I couldn't rest or sleep well since they were doing construction work on the floor above and the noise was horrible from 8 in the morning, this is not fair, if you know They have to build or fix something and they are going to make noise and disturb customers so it is better not to rent the hotel. The other thing that I disliked was the reception service, which is not good, they do not help or treat customers well, but otherwise everything is fine and the hotel is very central in the city of Manhattan

The staff was capable, friendly, and helpful. The room was what I requested. We had a private elevator to our floor which made it very easy to come or go. The Manhattan Times Square hotel exceeded our expectations and we would return again. The only negative was that the parking which said “free” was not free. We paid half the rate for each night, but this was less than most lots.

Be prepared for construction and air duct noises every day, which they don’t even have the courtesy to inform the guests and that is supposed to be the executive floor. Loads of little flies in the shower, showing the lack of cleanses in the area. Poor lighting in the room and bathroom.
