Homewood Suites by Hilton Newark-Wilmington South Area
10/10 Excellent
"My stay here was decent for the most part. Our suite had way more than I expected. There were a few minor things that I ran into but nothing major. The breakfast was really good and when the food ran low there was always someone there refilling it. The front desk workers were really nice and attentive."
"The reason we stayed here was to enjoy the outdoor patio we had often admired. Unfortunately, it was unusable due to the crowd as this is a popular student bar. I had inquired at check in if a reservation was needed and was told no. Additionally it was not expected that under 21 guests could not eat in the restaurant, the staff was kind and would allow with mark on hands indicating they were underage. Ultimately we ate elsewhere as there was no availability outside and inside was quite loud and cramped. There was a lot of noise in the room due to drivers revving engines on Main. The rooms were very clean, beds just ok, and an annoying light on thermostat (I am someone that cant sleep well with lighrs in the room). Breakfast was disappointing with much of the food being cold. Overall it was clean, friendly staff, but felt underwhelming and overpriced given the experience."
"We didn’t end up checking in. The property is horrible, the groups of people hanging in parking lit made us feel unsafe. Because we were stuck in traffic snd missed "
"This property is well located and reasonably priced but very outdated. Front desk staff efficient but unfriendly. Carpet dated, furniture chipped, lamps don't match. Very noisy through the room door. Compressor for refrigerator so loud I had to unplug it. I slept ok with earplugs.
Room was clean, though, and water pressure in shower was good. It was fine for a place just to sleep while in the area.
Two life safety concerns - fire stair doors were propped open, and the stairs in those stairwells (particularly the nosings) were in disrepair."
