We felt we must leave a review because we wish someone would have done this for us. We could barely pull into the tiny parking lot. The property is old and unmaintained. The only bright spot was a young, blonde woman who was doing her best to run the reception desk by herself. She told us that we needed to park in the Falls parking garage which was roughly a block and a half away, and the hotel would validate it for us. We decided to park in the parking garage and make the hike back with our luggage. After parking and getting out of our car, we were shocked and felt unsafe. Our options to get down were an unsafe looking elevator or stairs with rusty handrails and chunks of the concrete steps missing. I would not advise using the stair at night. Seriously, it looks like the homeless might sleep in the stairwells. Upon entering the room, we noticed a very strong odor, but dropped our bags and headed out to explore. When we came back, we found the odor to be overwhelming. It was similar to the smell of a dumpster on a hot summer day. We then demanded another room and were given one on the 4th floor which was better, but still old. The water was lukewarm at best when turned all the way to hot. I don't have enough characters left to tell you about what we heard the cleaning staff say or about eating the free breakfast in the karaoke bar next to an illustration of a mostly naked woman, but believe us, we have stories. Please take our advice; stay in Canada. It's better.
