"I was disappointed with the restaurant recommendation given by several staff members of 1865e Palais. It was terrible, a total tourist trap. Dint go there. Perhaps they are receiving a kickback. It was the worst food Ive ever had in France! The staff seems generally unaware of restaurants in Marseille. They should know better.
I also mentioned burned out lights in the bathroom but nothing was done.
Overall it’s a decent place in a great location. Just don’t take their recommendations."

"I had a disappointing stay due to cramped conditions and inflexible policies. The room was tiny hardly enough space to walk past the bed and it had a noticeable, lingering smell, with a small fly flying around the room. On top of that, standard checkout was at 11:00 AM, and when we asked for a late checkout, they said we would have to pay an extra €20 just for one hour."

"I really liked the special lift for people with handicaps like me. It went from the ground floor to the different floors. Like that no stairs to do - brilliant.
Lovely big room with large comfortable bed. Filtered water in glass bottle on top of the fridge with a kettle and glasses. Decent tv, great thick blackout curtains.
The in room breakfast is just right. Fresh fruit salad and fresh crusty baguette good butter and small jam pots. Even a little Nutella packet.

"Definitely a great location to see the core area of Marseille. Our room was on the Harbour side, so it was a bit loud at night, but otherwise everything was clean and comfortable. We did not take advantage of the breakfast so cannot comment on how good that was. Love the convenience to the subway system… Literally just outside the door."

"the room was clean and spacious but its big problem was the noise from the traffic outside. Motorbikes revving and cars repeatedly tooting until 2am in the morning every night. There are major traffic jams outside the room which causes the drivers to get very frustrated for long periods of time. And the traffic goes almost all night.
Also the shower was half broken and also the shower door. which I didn’t complain about because i made do (and they had obviously attempted to fix it previously ...
