"Perfect spot"

"The place is absolutely beautiful. We had a meal in the restaurant which was outstanding. My only gripes were with the check in. I explained that we were leaving on the 8am train in a few days. They said that it might be difficult to get a taxi and gave me a card with taxi numbers on it but did not offer to arrange it for me. They then got us to drag our heavy suitcases to our room which was quite a distance away and up a bit of a hill. It was boiling when we arrived so this was not great. I...

"You simply pay for the views at this hotel. There are no frills outside of that (which was fine for my stay) the rooms had AC which was great. The staff was nice but it seems they were understaffed and simple requests took longer than other hotels I stayed at in Portugal. The buffet breakfast was convenient as there aren’t many food choices in the area to go to. I would go back simply because of the views and the relaxing property!"

"Our stay at Quinta Da Marka was exceptional. This centuries-old vineyard overlooks the Douro River, with sweeping views in every direction. "I was never able to get to the hotel due to road closures caused by flooding in the area. The hotel never communicated to me via any means before hand. I made multiple attempts trying to get to the hotel through different roads and all ended up being closed at a some point. The sun went down and it was very dark. We were lucky to eventually drive out of the scary dangerous roads. A refund request was denied by the hotel. While I understand the policy, I don’t understand why the hotel never...

"Hotel hat unsere Erwartungen absolut übertroffen. Eine sehr gemütliche fast private Unterkunft. Frühstück ist ein Traum mit Obt und Orangensaft direkt vom Hotel eigenen Obstgarten. Die Weinprobe war sehr interessant. Der Höhepunkt war das Abendessen, das ist nicht zu beschreiben, das muss man einfach erleben. Ein Pool mitten in den Weinbergen ist eine willkommene Abkühlung an einem heißen Tag. Ein Auto zu mieten ist sehr zu empfehlen um die schöne Gegend kennenzulernen. Wir kommen gerne wieder."
