"This hotel was very reasonably priced for expensive Edinburgh. 20 mins by bus to the train station. Walking distance to the Royal Yacht. The staff were very friendly. No included breakfast, but they were a few complimentary breakfast items in the lobby, which we made use of. The room was very clean."

"Really central location, great value and clean rooms, friendly staff and an overall very pleasant stay. Everything feels new and well-kitted out. The only two drawbacks: 1) The location isn’t currently on Google maps and finding it was a bit tricky, particularly with luggage 2) Some rooms will get some noise later at night with a bar across the road, but we were in one of these and had no problem with it at all. "Uitstekend verblijf! Vier nachten in een mooie kamer met uitzicht op de (rommelige)achtertuin. Mooi, onlangs vernieuwd sanitair. Een bureau/tafeltje ontbrak in de kamer. Ontbijt wordt pas vanaf 08.00 aangeboden. Dat was te laat, daardoor kan ik het ontbijt niet beoordelen. Ontvangst hartelijk en vriendelijk, daarna niemand niet meer gezien. Ook 's avonds niet. Algemeen: prima verblijf voor overnachting. Bus voor naar centrum tegenover het hotel was erg fijn."

"Historic and authentic Scottish, charming place. But a bit concerning that you have to use a key to lock yourself in at night, which would be dicey if there was a fire and you had to struggle with finding and using the old skeleton key to get out. When you leave the hotel for the day, they want you to leave the key at the desk and retrieve it when you return. Also, our room was below ground level and smelled a little musty."
