I’m active duty military and was traveling with my pregnant wife, daughter, two dogs, and a 20-ft U-Haul while moving for orders. Before booking, I specifically called and asked if they had parking that could accommodate the truck. They said yes, which is the only reason I made the reservation, no need to cancel ahead of reservation right?
When I arrived, there was barely enough parking for normal cars, let alone a moving truck. When I explained the situation, the staff told me to park my U-Haul outside on the street next to a freeway on-ramp and claimed “truck drivers do it all the time.” Yet didn’t see a single truck there or anywhere near, and leaving a moving truck full of my family’s belongings, our entire life, on the side of the road is obviously unreasonable. Not to mention outside their property lines.
Because of this I couldn’t stay, yet the hotel refused to issue a refund. I tried resolving it with the hotel, Expedia, and even my bank, and the business avoided every attempt from everyone to fix the issue. The reservation was only for one night, didn’t seem unreasonable to issue the refund, it’s not like they were counting on that one night of income. I guess greed overcomes yet again.
Between the misleading information about parking, rude customer service, and refusal to take responsibility, I STRONGLY recommend staying somewhere else. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY.
