"This property is very, very special indeed. The lobby and living room are furnished with lovely and comfortable furniture with several sitting areas in the living room and a charming little bar. The open air restaurant (facing the sea) is picturesque with grape vines that cascade down from the trellis, and drape between the wood posts, to the stone wall that's below table height. This all literally creates a picture perfect frame of the sea. We had breakfast both mornings dinner the first night. Breakfast options were plentiful and very tasty (and included in our rate). The dinner menu was lovely and we enjoyed our food selections and the bottle of wine as well.
We arrived around 7pm. We were welcomed by a very pleasant, kind, and soft spoken woman. She completed our check-in and the escorted us to our junior suite on the top floor with a private balcony with french doors facing the sea. The sitting room had two windows; one facing the sea (same as the balcony) and the other facing the coast line. And, that very same woman also took our dinner order. I asked if she were the owner and I got the answer I suspected. Pride of ownership is on display throughout the entire property and the unassuming customer service is perfect for property & the location.
Nature abounds at the Hotel Costa Dorado. Everywhere you look you see something beautiful: architecture, design & decor, plantings, butterflies, bumble bees & even turtles. Had I known, we'd still be there!"
"This hotel is the perfect place for anyone staying in Cala Gonone. They offer a great shuttle service to the town and have a wonderful pool. Their service was excellent and offered a good breakfast, I highly recommend it!"
"We were lucky to be able to book the Junior Suite overlooking the marina and beach. What a treat. This Hune visit offered less crowds and slightly lower prices than the peak season. Cala Gonone is a lovely compact village with an abundance of options for fun and good. Staff were extremely helpful when asked about local things to do. Room service always dodo a wonderful job of making sure the freshly cleaned room was a joy to come back to each day. We had the balcony doors open pretty much all the time, even when sleeping. The noise of the marina and traffic might be annoying for some, but we happen to energy this brings. It just may not be for everyone. In that case the doors off quite a bit of noise reduction. This stay made out Sardinia trip one of the best we’ve had."

"
The location is beautiful and peaceful — exactly what we wanted — but the service is not at 4-star level. Staff are kind but clearly overstretched. We were charged €8/day for parking with no alternative, which should really be included. Breakfast starts only at 8AM with no early option, and no water or coffee machine in the rooms. The spa was advertised but was unavailable during our stay, with no prior notice. The pool bar opened only after 1PM. The biggest surprise was the coffee: machine coffee was poor, and my first cappuccino tasted of salty water (likely tap water). Though the waiter apologised and fixed it the next day, this is unacceptable in an Italian 4-star resort. Staff also had loud arguments near guests. Room cleaning was basic: towels were changed but sheets weren’t, and floors weren’t properly cleaned. The food menu is very limited and expensive. Worst of all, during checkout they tried to charge us more than double (including parking again and items we didn’t order). Only after I asked to check the bill was it corrected. Beautiful setting, but the service, transparency, and quality need major improvement"
"A modern, thoughtfully designed property on a hilltop overlooking Nuoro. The front desk staff went out of their way to be helpful with a small problem that I had. The rooms were modern and comfortable. One issue that we found everywhere in Sardinia is that the rooms don't have enough electrical outlets, making it a bit of a hassle to charge personal devices. The breakfast was fine in a room with a great view overlooking the town. One plus, during the off-season, is that there are enough travelers for business, so the property offers the full range of services. At other properties in the off-season, the lack of guests can result in limited services. Also, excellent parking. Definitely recommend for car travelers. Because it is located 2 km from the city center, it may be a hassle for persons who don't have a car, although there is good municipal bus service accessible about a five minute walk distant."
