"I love the amenities of The Lafayette such as the Lobby Bar, Diner, the pool and the room decor is so fun. However, it’s not the best hotel if you want to get a good night’s sleep. Since many of the guests are partying in the hotel, there is noise going on well after 2 A.M. On my floor, there were doors slamming every 5 minutes and the vents in the bathroom were oddly projecting loud conversations from people in other rooms. Definitely the worst hotel experience I’ve had in terms of noise from the surrounding rooms. I got absolutely no sleep, which was a bummer. I wish the hotel had designated quiet hours for people to follow. If you’re okay with the noise, it’s an amazing hotel!"

"Always a great stay at the Sophia"

"My wife and I stayed here for 6 nights. We’d chosen a room with a view over the marina and that was definitely a great choice. As we had one of the rooms where the hotel extends out, we had two balconies which offered us a stunning all around view of the marina. The room itself was large with a comfortable king sized bed and a separate seating area and round dining table. The room was clean and quiet, even with the bar area directly below. There was plenty of parking available either in front of the hotel or in the underground parking area. The bar and restaurant staff were friendly and efficient and the prices were also very good for the area. The location is fantastic as it’s quiet (civil and naval aircraft excepted) but still easy to get to the rest of San Diego."
