Our room stank of mildew. My husband thinks it was the seal on the shower. We had been traveling quite a bit and my watch had automatically changed every time we changed a time zone. Apparently this time it did not. We paid for breakfast the next morning and got up and went down at what we thought was 9:30. Turns out it was 10:30. We explained what happened to the front staff and even showed them my watch. We asked if they would apply the breakfast we had missed out on to the next day and they refused. It wouldn’t have cost them anything but no, they would not. Our room was hot. We had to go down and get extra pillows. I asked for ice as I gave a knee injury and was told I could go to the restaurant and ask them myself. Everywhere else we stayed and asked pillows were brought to us as well as the ice. It just wasn’t a very friendly or hospitable place. We also felt nickeled and dimed. We asked for something, I can’t remember now what it was but they said it would be extra. We asked for help to get a taxi from the airport to their hotel and they would get it for us but it turned out to be almost twice the rate! (They said $95 and we paid $52 including the tip!). We got it ourselves. They also lock the doors and you have to ring a bell or use your card. It made us feel we were in an unsafe area and was nerve-racking.
