I do not leave bad reviews often, but this place was terrible. I always do my research and make sure everything is taken care of before traveling. We arrived at the hotel late, around 11:00 p.m., and the front desk initially had difficulty locating my reservation. Once it was found, I was told I needed to pay for the room even though it had already been paid in full.
At first, I assumed the charge was for the city tax (about 6 euros), but after tapping my card, I realized he was attempting to charge me again for the full two-night stay. Fortunately, my card declined. I showed the front desk agent my Expedia confirmation and receipt, yet he continued to insist the reservation was unpaid, which made the situation confusing and uncomfortable.
The staff member was not friendly, and the room was very basic. It was fine for sleeping, but the elevator was extremely small, the room felt old and outdated, and the window would not close all the way.
The hotel was quiet, centrally located, and I did feel safe. However, the lack of customer service overshadowed these positives. The front desk agent only agreed to follow up with Expedia at the very end of our stay and was consistently rude. He also demanded the physical room key back each time we left the hotel, without explanation. Better communication and customer service could have made this a forgettable issue, but unfortunately, that was not the case. I would not recommend staying here, especially if you do not speak French.
