I would definitely stay again at Grun as the hotel and amenities are great, but there are some lessons to be learned in customer service.
I booked an in-room massage, the masseuse was 30 minutes late and no one notified me of the delay. This was very frustrating as I had plans later, and with it being my last day in Uluwatu I felt like I was wasting away time. It would have been ideal if the front desk notified me of the delay, considering as they were transporting the masueus around the resort and would have been aware of the delay. Nothing was offered by the hotel by way of apology.
Secondly, we were given a voucher for 2 free drinks at La Cima and were not allowed to claim this upon checking out. The coupon did not state that there were any terms preventing us from doing this. In my experience, you should always part ways with your guests on a positive note and not granting this was very disappointing and left a very bad impression for the rest of my onward journey.
Breakfast was good but the one meal I had at La cima was the worst nasi campur I ate in Bali. However, I think Grun have nailed it with the overall experience. I really enjoyed the complimentary yoga and shuttle into Uluwatu. It’s a shame that there were a couple of things have put a dampener on my overall stay.
