"This is the first time I have made a negative report about any hotel-- stay somewhere else. The property is a rehabbed luxury home from the late 1800s or early 1900s--probably the home of a Pittsburgh robber baron. There is no staff. We arrived about 2:00 P.M. and found an individual working in the restaurant kitchen who was able to get us to our room. The room was unique and only 34 stairs up a very old and steep staircase. "Very funky hotel layout - it's only 2 floors but they're on the 5th and 6th floors and the elevator can be slow. The rooms are spacious and the in-room exercise equipment was kind of nice. But the lobby, restaurant, and other public spaces have no (or severely underpowered?) air conditioning which made it miserable on a hot summer day."

"The room was clean and seemed well maintained. Noise of the traffic nearby was extremely loud at night. Breakfast was good and the staff maintaining it was excellent. Parking was a little difficult. We returned around 10 PM and got lucky in finding a spot to park. Others were pretty much making parking out of areas that weren't really spots. For $27 a night, I shouldn't get a spot by luck. Overall though the hotel was clean, staff friendly, breakfast good, and very convenient with location."
