"While Karao Hotel may offer budget nightly stays, it offers amazingly large rooms, close vicinity to the Liberia airport, public bus directory in front of Karao, and extraordinary professionally brewed coffee shop and breakfast meals. The (made on premises) breakfast items are inexpensive and high quality. Hope you will enjoy my recent photos of these delights, my companion and I stayed twice in December 2025. Perfect in every way."

"Stayed here for 2 nights and I can say it’s the best budget all inclusive hotel in Costa Rica! Location and food was great but there’s not a lot of food options to choose from. They have friendly staff but not the ones in the restaurant. They are just busy talking to each other and doesn’t even want to have an interaction with guests. View was nice! Looks like a painting from afar! Also, don’t forget to hang the DND sign on your door as the hotel staff just go in to your room without knocking...

Because we booked through Expedia, the resort seemed to place special significance on our reservation — we received Expedia wristbands & door hangers, which made us feel oddly VIP (maybe damage control given mixed reviews, but we felt well cared for). Don’t believe the haters — they truly aim to please. Do the pre-check-in if possible. The app didn’t work for me, and the in-person process is long when you just want to start...
