"The building doesn’t look like it has had any money spent on it since the 1980’s.Very shabby hotel, shame on the owners, it could be fab. Had holes in sheets and towels. "I was disappointed in this hotel and I’m confused about the high ratings. It’s certainly not 4 stars. The photos are misleading. There were no lamps in the room. No individual toiletries as indicated in the photos. Unstocked bar fridge. Dirty shag rug. Uncomfortable bed. Dated TV with no instructions for use (it’s possible to remove the dubbed audio from some channels but it’s difficult to figure out how to do this). The smoke detector or other device on the ceiling flashed bright red all night....

"Lovely lovely hotel - it’s a smaller footprint than it appears but just has the true charm of Florence! It’s a 10 min walk to some lovely cafes and as soon as construction is completed it will be nice to walk along the river at night. The rooms were reminiscent of a different century! Lovely!"

"The room was impeccably clean, to quote my wife, who owns her own cleaning company and is incredibly fussy. So very high praise indeed. The hotel is very well located within 10 to 20 minutes walk of most major sites in Florence. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good supplying everything except eggs and reasonably priced at €8.00. We have vowed to return to Florence one day and that includes this delightful hotel. "
