La Falconeria Hotel

"La Falconeria Hotel is centrally located in the Valeta area. Close to shopping, restaurants and transportation. Room was big with a great air conditioner. Water was provided daily. Rhea from the front desk made our stay wonderful. Always patience and willing to tell us places to go and how to get there as our stay in Malta was short. Breakfast was also excellent. There was some items that were made to order and other were self service buffette."

"We had a wonderful stay at the Malta Marriott Hotel. The staff were exceptional and made our experience truly memorable. A special thank you to Helena at reception and Usha from housekeeping, who were both amazing. They were kind, professional, and always willing to help. Every request or issue we had was dealt with promptly, and the team went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable. We were celebrating my daughter’s 18th birthday, and the staff did everything possible to make it extra special. Their thoughtfulness and attention to detail made the celebration unforgettable. The level of service and efficiency throughout the hotel was outstanding, and we were extremely happy with our stay. Thank you to everyone at the Malta Marriott for making our family celebration so memorable. We would gladly return and highly recommend this hotel to others."

"Beautiful stay. The hotel was spotless and staff were lovely. We booked a sea view room very pretty views over Valletta. The pool was lovely however not attached to the hotel which I wasn’t aware of before we got there (I may not have noticed) again lovely views of Valletta over the water. Very close walk into silema. We stayed room only and had breakfast and lunch at the pool. Very nice."

"Excellent location near the harbour and Valletta is a short and inexpensive boat trip away. The hotel was very clean and the staff were very accommodating. Breakfast was a buffet affair and was reasonable with a lot of choice. My only negative point is that the rooftop pool is also made available for public use so gets crowded very quickly. You have to be quick if you want a subbed…However there is an exclusive indoor pool with spa, steam room and sauna which we used a lot and enjoyed immensely. A very nice hotel which I would recommend."

"Good location! Not actually in Sliema but close enough. Located near lots of bars Ave restaurants and can take the ferry to lots of places including gozo and that’s right across the street. The pool in the pics is the pool club across the street. It’s super nice but crowded because others can visit not just hotel guests. The family room was good for us. The elevators were having issues the entire time but luckily we were on the 1st floor. Overall I would recommend but def not what I expected from the photos. We did have a great view from our room."

"Nice hotel, well located off the main area in Valletta. Reception and rooftop pool staff very friendly. Room was nice, clean and large with good aircon, although it looked onto an internal courtyard so wasn’t very private and we had to have the curtains closed a lot of the time. Rooftop pool was very welcome in the extreme heat!"

"Lovely hotel and excellent staff, but don’t choose it because of the outdoor pool. We found this unusable as it’s open to the public and unbelievably crowded. Also the pool is small and not suitable for kids as it’s full of adults just standing in it. The indoor pool was a saving grace. The room and breakfast were good and the outdoor rooftop restaurant was a beautiful place to eat one night."

"The hotel was excellent for location and amenities. The beach club was great for bathing and access for sea swimming. The roof top pool is worth a visit so book a sunbed as soon as you arrive. The bar was very good and staff great at drink making at both the hotel and beach club. Check in was speedy and staff on the desk were friendly and helpful. The negatives were the size of room so not a lot of room for clothes storage or cases and the awkward design of the bathroom, which made it so difficult to access. The app was useful but a little confusing in some parts, the recommendations locally for restaurants and trips were very good. Location of the hotel is good for the ferry and a shopping complex is 10 mins walk away."

"I would rate this hotel 4 out of 5 stars. The Grand Hotel Excelsior offers everything you would expect from a five-star resort: indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a well-equipped fitness center, multiple restaurants and bars, and excellent amenities. The hotel is also spotless, very well maintained, and the staff is genuinely attentive and welcoming. That said, the property feels frozen in the early 2010s and is due for a major renovation. The exterior showed significant peeling paint in several areas, some of the furniture was noticeably worn, and there were no power outlets near the beds, making it inconvenient to charge phones and other devices overnight. The lack of USB charging ports—other than on the television—was also disappointing for a hotel of this category. Despite these shortcomings, the atmosphere and service made for a pleasant stay. I especially enjoyed the souvenir shop and appreciated that the hotel has a renowned pastry chef, which was reflected in the quality of the desserts. With some modernization, this hotel could once again fully live up to its five-star rating."
