"Overall very good"

"We checked in extremely late, but there was desk staff , and the process was very quick. We were only in the hotel to sleep as we had a wedding nearby. We were in the newer building which is functional and clean. The rooms in the original building though looked amazing. Wood panelling everywhere and a real stately home vibe. Our package didn't include breakfast. Parking was plentiful. When we check out a lovely lady (I didn't get her name) gave us some amazing recommendations. I would like to...

"Our room was lovely and it had a nice window overlooking the street. We saw staff/host coming in every now and then and they were fantastic and nice. I had by accident broken a glass of wine and told the host that I'd pay for it however he said that all is good! Will definitely come back!"

"This was our second stay at Barns and it not disappoint. The rooms are spotlessly clean, nice touch with the mini fridge with fresh milk and water. The street is very quiet, as are the rooms. Only 3 rooms but we didn’t hear or see anyone so we had the beautiful back terrace to ourselves, a little sun spot! Lovely large kitchen/dining area for your use but we ate out both nights. Would highly recommend."

"If you are a golfer playin Troon, there could not be a mote lovely, refined but casual and convenient property. The star is incredibly kind and thoughtful and the lovely views of the see and the course make for a calm, bucolic, experience. Food and drinks were lovely as well."

"Really nice place for an overnight stay before we went to Arran."

"Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Had a good sized ground floor room with small patio leading on to a garden which is a very family friendly area. If patios were cleaned up e.g. sprayed with Wet and Forget and tables wiped it would make a huge difference because everything else is clean and well cared for. Well situated for walks along the beach and into town. "

"We loved our stay at the Western House Hotel. We were in the main building which was stunning. Beautiful spacious room, comfy bed. Staff excellent and food very good. We'll definitely be back. Thank you."

Near the beach, close to transportation, etc. Walked to a beautiful golf course, Belleisle, and played there on a spectacular sunny day. Enjoyed 2 breakfasts and dinners in their restaurant. "This was the most elegant and b&b I’ve ever stayed in. The room was magnificent and the owner/operators were fantastic. They treated us marvelously, were welcoming, and made us feel right at home during our stay. The breakfast was absolutely the best. "This hotel has now become a Premier Inn. We booked in March to stay at the Holiday Inn Express. We received an email from Premier Inn saying they would honour our booking. This was not quite the case and we are still waiting to hear from Premier Inn.
