"First knew this place attending my roommate’s commencement ceremony when we were studying at BrownU. A splendid building by the river with gorgeous interiors. Great staffs; spacious and clean rooms; with quite a few afflicted restaurants/bars on the first floor. Affordable prices whenever I booked. Great location. At the hub of almost everything: a few min walk from train station; a skybridge from inside to a mall that has a CVS, a cinema (a theater and citizen hall if going abit more north); walkable to college hill thus to RISD and Brown campuses; a lot of vintage stores, restaurants (there’s a Japanese shop nearby) This place has always been me and my friends’ first choice to stay whenever we go back to RI."

"This place has a lot of work to do to bring it up to even average standards in the hospitality industry. A few notable issues: “Free Breakfast” - Yes, but: The dining area had dirty tables and serving areas. No staff going around making sure things were clean. Food choices were limited and not being restocked regularly. When I got down there on Sun morning at 9am—only real options were white bread (no jelly), cereal (no milk). No fruit. No eggs. no sausage. It took several patrons complaining to desk staff to get some food going. Really a poorly managed affair. Smell of gas on 2d floor hallway – Seems gas powered dryers or other equipment are venting in the hallway. Really bad paint jobs in stairways and halls. Dirty carpets in star wells. No elevator. Filthy dirty pool. Gym was mentioned in ads –no gym found Indoor Pool mentioned in ads—where was that? I suggest this place needs major management attention—for the high price paid on Memorial Day weekend, I feel I was robbed of a decent hotel stay when I needed a couple of nights in town for business."
