Disappointed that when we arrived we were told we were checking into a 1 bedroom apartment with pull out couches when we had booked a 2 bedroom back in October last year. Comments were dismissive, until I pushed and said there has to be a mistake. Which she admitted there was on their end - human error is understandable but unfortunate. I guess it was just disappointing that rather than a sincere apology and some time to consider our options (considering it was late in the afternoon during school holidays) frantic comments included ‘I can refund you and you can find somewhere else if it’s a problem’, ‘if it makes you feel better I could refund you some money’ and ‘pull out couches are more comfortable than beds and would be fine’.
I was apprehensive so she practically pushed me out the door by calling the place over the road (when I asked if it was nice she said no).
I think she was trying to quickly rectify the issue by insisting on driving me over the road rather than letting us go check it out ourselves and then insisted on paying them the difference on her card and having me pay her in full on mine.
Naturally we understand that she had made a mistake and I think she was trying to fix it but it was frantic, chaotic, dismissive and took all of our autonomy out of the process which was totally disappointing.
While we won’t be back after this experience, we wish them well in the future and hope that they rectify the room number issue so it doesn’t impact other travellers
