For us it was the pefect base from which to explore County Kerry and do some horseback riding in the Killarney national park. "We were so excited for our stay here and it was a great experience start to finish! By far the nicest hotel we stayed at during our road trip around Ireland. The room with the lake view was absolutely incredible. This is a great location for visiting Killarney (very easy to drive to if you have a rental car). Even walking around the grounds is beautiful. It was relaxing & scenic.
Our service at the bar at the end of the night was sub-par (slow service + a lot of dirty tables not being cleaned...

South of Killarney, so if you want to be in the middle of pubs and restaurants and such, this may not be the place for you, but we loved that we could walk to Muckross Abbey, and that we were right by the lake and Torc Waterfall with short drives. They offered free bike rental, which I'd have loved if we had more time.
